There are so many coupon matchups this week! On the other hand, this week the 4-day sale is no big deal (in my never-to-be-humble opinion)
Page 1
Green Giant Vegetables: 10 for $10 with in-ad coupon on back page (must buy 10)
Progresso Soups: 10 for $10 with in-ad coupon (must buy 10) Ok – and here’s the thing: on the back page there is a deal for Buy $10, get $5 off instantly. While it isn’t pictured, the Progresso Traditional Soups are included in that deal (read the micro-fine print on the back page with the deal). That means that you buy 10, use the in-ad coupon to get 10 for $10, and $5 comes off instantly. And all this is BEFORE you use manufacturers coupons. Free soup anyone? There seems to be a question as to whether they intended to make Progresso part of two separate deals and from what I have heard, Acme has reprogrammed their registers to not allow you to “double dip” with the 2 offers. Sorry!
General Mills, Nature valley and Betty Crocker Breakfast event: $1.99 each (must buy 10)
This will be referred to as THE RED LINKS for the rest of this post: coupons for the above 3 items can be found here here here and here, my sidebar coupon printer and in the 9/7 & 10/5 SS (sorry – didn’t feel like typing them all out individually for all the GM/Betty Crocker deals this week)
Favorite 4 Meat Deal: pick any 4 packages for $19.99 (I’ve never had good luck with this deal, but from what I have heard, if you can get there first thing in the AM, the selection is fabulous!)
California Red Ripe Strawberries: BOGO
Arm & Hammer 2x Laundry Detergent: 2 for $5 AND get a free Essential Starter Kit with in-ad coupon on page 7 (use the $1 coupons from here and you can get 2 for $3 AND the free Essentials kit - and somebody please kill “Jill”!)
Kellers Butter: BOGO
Heinz Ketchup: 2 for $3 with in-ad coupon
Lean Cuisine 50% off sale (use the $1.50/3 from here)

nothing spectacular…as long as they are running the 4 for $19.99 meat special, there won’t be a whole lot of other meat deals
Page 6
Entenmann’s Little Bites or Donuts: 50% off
Thomas’ Light Multi-grain, 100 Calorie or Cinnamon Raisin English Muffins: BOGO (FYI – the flavored/low-cal varieties almost NEVER go on sale…so this is a good one!)
Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers: 2 for $6 (use the $1 coupons from the October All You)
South Beach Tide me Over Powder Drink Mix: 2 for $4.44 (they were giving you a $2 coupon here)

I made my acme trip today(Limerick one). I was so bummed when I found out the 10 for $10 progresso soup deal already had the extra $5.00 taken into account. And the buy 10 cereals, granola bars, etc deal on the 1st page for $1.99 each already had the $5.00 instant savings taken out also. I was expecting an additional $5 taken off on each. I hate when they mislead you in the ads.
The self check-out lady looked like she was about to “hurt” me. As I was about to scan my last catalina coupon she comes over and says “I keep getting an error”. I said I was just scanning away and she walked away. When I went up to give her $1 bill that someone left in the dispenser she really wasn’t happy with me, maybe because I bought 23 items and paid $0.04 for them all?
Anyone else having “error” problems at the Limerick self check-outs. I noticed it happened during my last trip also.
Oh Man! I read the ads the same way as you, Stacey. I was hoping that it was 1.99/each + the $5. I will have to revisit my list, because I’m on a budget of $25/week in October, including the veggies I already bought at the farm (for $12.50).
I shop at one of the Acmes in Delaware, and I always have a really hard time with the self checkout counters. They think I’m stealing from them every time I go in, so they check my coupons like a hawk. I’m one of the good ones, so it really irritates me that they treat me like a criminal. Oh well.
Thanks for the info. You saved me a lot of hassle at the checkout counter.
Ok – here’s the scoop…the coupon does say “not valid with any other offer”, but from what I heard, it was working on Friday and then they “caught it” and reprogrammed the computers. if you really want to pitch a fit, you could argue with the store manager, as some people are having luck with that. You have to decide if you want to do that.
As for me, I didn’t need soup, but I might go in and throw a fit…just because the programmers at Acme have been really screwing up lately and not entering sales…and the people who create their sales have been seriously misleading people with things like this…it’s not the first time.
Then again, I really like my store and don’t want to be seen as difficult. What to do, what to do….
My store has a lot of animosity towards me already. I’m not going to raise a stink about it. I don’t really need the soup anyway. It’s frustrating that they are so misleading though.
I ran through our ACME today, they had a big sign that the price was WITH coupon from the ad – not worth the battle in my opinion. But I will add it to the list of VERY misleading ACME ads. I am hoping to catch Kim to be able to say something to her about them too.
DianeScrapss last blog post..I’m Back! Couple of quick couponer things to do!
If I stop in before Friday, I’ll grab a manager and say something. I also want to complain AGAIN that they often have expired items on the shelves(this time it was the bags of cookie mix and something else but I can’t remember). So if you shop at Limerick make sure you always check the dates before buying it, especially if it’s going in your stockpile.
