The trick to doing these deals is to separate them in to separate transactions of 10, making your first transaction the least OOP.  For instance, if you get all Lucky Charms & Cookie Crisp and cookie mix as your first transaction, after doubling, your total out-of-pocket should be about$4 and you will get a $10 Catalina.  For an example of previous General Mills deals where I rolled the Catalinas to get an obscene amount of food super-cheap, click here and scroll down to the part about Acme

Did you see any deals that I missed or would you like to post any scenarios for the 2 Catalina deals?  Post them in the comments!

yeah i think your right, my acme isn’t haveing any appriciation sale, but i wish we did, i need butter this week. lucky you

    • Mindi says:

They are probably having the sale at my store because we are very close to the Collegeville store, which is one of the ones closing!

  2. kimmiep621 says:

oh i forgot to say the butter is 1.99 in my ad

    • Mindi says:

You know what? $1.99 is still a VERY good price for butter. Typically $1.99 is my “stock up” price (so you can imagine what I am going to do at $1.49/lb!)

  3. Kristine says:

I did my very first catalina deal yesterday, and even did TWO transactions : ) I am very excited, can you tell?

Anyway, I thought I read somewhere that you can freeze Pillsbury biscuits? I got 17 of them with the deal (we actually do eat these 1-2 times per week so that made the deal that much better for me!) The containers say “do not freeze”, but I swore I read something about it somewhere. Maybe I am just imagining things. Anyone know? Should I just cook some up and freeze them in bags?

  4. Shannon says:

ACME butter (salted only) is $1.99 at my store too, which is a very good price (reg. price was 3.59 I believe). I bought 2 today and put them in my freezer!

  5. Shannon says:

    Kristine,

Yes, you can freeze them. Just make sure they are thawed completely before opening the container. The only difference I have noticed is that the biscuits don’t fluff up as much if they were previously frozen, but they still taste great.

  6. Jennifer Y. says:

The KoP Acme also has butter on sale for 1.99–both salted and unsalted. I agree–this is an incredible price!

I did the Kellogg’s cereal deal w/free milk and they only gave me the actual price of the milk. I said something to the mgr (who btw had to be called over because I was using IPs–that was a new one) and she said that with the cats you get the full 4.50 when it scans, but this in-flyer coupon prompted for the actual price. Darn. I got 2 1/2 gallons, but I should have grabbed one of the chugs to get my full money’s worth.

The 4C light iced tea mixes are still on sale for 3.99. I also got 1.00/1 on my avenu. Combined with the bogo coupon I got 1 cannister and 1 box of sticks for 2.99.

The peppermint Mentos gum is still on clearance at .79. My .55 coupons only doubled to .79. It was not a dnd. I’m not sure if I read this here or on hcw, but I heard that Acme got wise and may not be giving overages anymore:(

This is a little off topic, but does anyone else hand their coupons to the cashier one at a time? I swear everytime I hand them the stack, they miss one and it’s so hard to tell when their just scanning away. It happene at Acme this weekend. I only handed her the stack b/c there was a line. She missed one. I feel like a wierdo saying something, but hey–that’s cash in my pocket!

  7. Barb says:

    Hey-
Here’s an awesome deal-I read about it & tried it today at my Acme…and IT WORKED! Acme is having the General Mills Catalina Offer (buy 10, get $10), BUT they also have another 2 Catalina deals going. Here’s how it works-buy 5 Nature Valley granola bars, get $3.50 off your next shopping order, buy 5 Betty Crocker fruit snacks get $3.50 off your next shopping order. So in total you will get back $17.00 off your next shopping order. Roll it for more savings!
    Enjoy!
    Barb

  8. Kristine says:

    Thank you Shannon!
