Chocolate Cheerios Giveaway!

My children love chocolate cereals and, while I do let them indulge in the occasionally, I am always looking for a way to make their selections more healthy.

The people at Cheerios and MyBlogSpark sent me a Chocolate Cheerios gift pack so that my family could try them and they were a hit.  They aren’t too chocolately and since they are made with real cocoa, they don’t have that “fake chocolate” taste that some other chocolate cereals have.

Chocolate Cheerios is low in fat, heart healthy, has 100 calories per serving, contains at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams recommended daily), and is a good source of calcium and vitamin D. Made with real cocoa, Chocolate Cheerios can help your family start the day off right with a delicious and nutritious breakfast that is sure to make you smile!

They also sent me a few recipes to try and I think I found a new favorite late-night snack:

Strawberry-Chocolate Cheerios® Parfaits

Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Start to Finish: 15 Minutes

2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
4 containers (6 oz each) Yoplait® Light Fat Free strawberry yogurt
2 cups Chocolate Cheerios® cereal

In 4 parfait glasses or clear drinking glasses, layer half of the strawberries, half of the yogurt and half of the cereal. Repeat layers.

Serve immediately

And now, you can enter to win a Chocolate Cheerios gift pack that includes a box of Chocolate Cheerios for you to try as well as a chocolate scented spa kit and a ceramic cereal bowl.

we start our mornings sunday through friday with cereal or something equally as easy to prepare. saturdays are our special breakfast days (we have scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits or cinnamon rolls). it always brings a smile to my face to hear my girls talking in laughing in their room first thing in the morning. they share a bed and it is just adorable to see their little sleepy smiling faces. i especially love it because it means they woke up in a good mood…score one for mom!

We are not a morning family so mornings never run too smoothly here. While all my kids get breakfast at school/daycare, they still like to grab a ziploc of cheerio’s to munch on while driving to daycare.

We start our mornings on the couch under blankets eatting dry cereal and drinking orange juice watching sprout. I love the mornings because the kids are still waking up and want to be held which doesn’t happen at any other time during the day.

  21. Andie G says:

During the week my kids get choice breakfast. Usually cereal or waffle. On Sat mornings my 5y.o tries to wake up before the rest of us, she wants to make Mom and Dad breakfast in bed. She pours a generous serving of cerial in the bowl. Accompanied by the day old coffee from the pot with the vanilla creamer and sugar, she can’t warm it up since she’s not allowed to use appliances without supervision. Places it on the table awaiting my arrival. She then gets a drinking cup out for her and her younger sister (3) and fill it with cereal, turns on Sponge Bob and snuggle up on the couch. Sundays we do the big breakfast, but Saturdays I lie in bed and wait for her to finish the routine. :)

  22. Barb L says:

Cereal is a breakfast, and huge snack in our house — I would love to try the choc cheerios!!

  23. Barbara says:

We start off with a big breakfast every morning…all 5 of us at the breakfast table discussing what we are going to do for the rest of the day. It helps ‘center’ me for the rest of the day!

Chocolate cereal is a favorite at our house. A nutritious chocolate cereal would be great.

  28. Most mornings the kids and hubs eat cereal and I have a banana with peanut butter on whole wheat toast or a greek yogurt and granola bar.Occasionally I do oatmeal pancakes or waffles or scrambled eggs. Right now I am PG and feeling yucky … so anything goes! :)

  33. L Dice says:

weekday mornings it is a bagel in the car on the way to daycare. Weekends we do the big eggs and bacon breakfast. What make me smile is how happy my little one is when he wakes up. (usually)

  36. Cilla says:

My kids are a bit older now so they are not into breakfast as much (unfortunately) but I still love my cereal almost every day. Also, I still give my kids hugs and kisses every day and that is a great way to start the day.

  37. Carol says:

I enjoy listening to my kids’ morning conversations over breakfast – their thoughts and theories about things constantly amuse me! Cereal is the usual breakfast; we try to stay away from too many “sugar” cereals; this one sounds perfect, though!

  38. Amanda says:

i got two little girls that loves cheerios, we have not yet tried the chocolate ones!!!

  39. mandy says:

We always start out with cereal, cereal box forts around the bowls, and arguing over who gets what box. Oh the joy of being a mom!!

  40. Bethany says:

I usually start my day by having my daughter sit up and give me a kiss. I think she is trying to wake me up like Snow White or Sleeping Beauty. This always brings a smile to my face because since she is only 13 months and hasn’t quite mastered the “kiss” it’s usually opened mouthed, slobbery but so sweet. And sometimes she even makes a blowing noise like she’s trying really hard to make the kiss.
I would love to try these chocolate cheerios, I’m not a fan of chocolate cereal, but I think it would be an extra fun snack for her occasionally. She is a big fan of cheerios!

  41. nicole says:

  44. Tiffany says:

We love cereal! It’s how we start off most mornings! I love watching my son read the back of the cereal box just like his daddy.
.-= Tiffany´s last blog ..Fun at Chuck E Cheese =-.

  45. cindy says:

I always get up early to make sure we have hot breakfast for the kids, usually an egg sandwich, oatmeal, or waffles. Weekends are cereal breakfasts – I like those best because Mom gets to sleep in and my daughter is old enough that she can pour herself, her little brother, and mom a bowl! (I just set things out the night before so she doesn’t have to reach into our high shelves. She’s 5).

  46. Jen says:

I start my morning with Cheerios, Eggs or sausage M-F. On the weekends we have a special breakfast like bagels or pancakes with the whole family.

  47. Shannon says:

We are definitely a family in love with their cereals! We love eating cereal at breakfast (and of course, watching Playhouse Disney with the our 2 year old). Quite a few times we have had a bowl for dessert. Yes, even we adults will get some of the kiddy kinds, but we really try to watch the sugars and such in them. Just recently our LO has started drinking the milk out of her bowl like Daddy…it’s so cute!
