This is one week you do NOT want to forget to pick up a newspaper! As a reminder, when I list how many papers I am buying, I take in to consideration that I buy it at the dollar store so I am only paying $1/copy (as opposed to the regular price of $1.75). If your paper is more expensive, you may not find it as much of a deal as I do!
One other thing: make sure you check your newspapers before you buy them. There should be 3 inserts in your paper this week (assuming your area usually gives all the circulars). That doesn’t mean that you should pull them apart in the stores, but a quick flip-through should be sufficient. I don’t know if people steal the coupons out of the paper or what but I find that about 1/4 to 1/3 of the papers are either missing some coupons or the inserts are mangled!
Here’s the link to the coupons this week
Coupons of Note
Egglands Best Eggs: $.35 (these were on sale last week at Giant and Superfresh is having triple coupons this week. When that happens, you can get these eggs cheaper than “regular” eggs!)
Fleischmann’s Strip or Jar: $.40 (I am a big baker and can always use yeast and this is the time of year it goes on sale)
Glade B1G1F coupons (5 different ones): Glade had the moneymaker catalina deal at Giant recently and Target is having a deal right now that gets these free, after gift card. These can also be combined with blinkies found at many supermarkets to turn them in to a moneymaker at Target. With the way it looks, these coupons are going to be very useful for current and (probably) future Glade deals. I made over $50 in Catalinas on the last Glade deal and hope to do it again
Kleenex Facial Tissues: $.50/3: these go on sale 10 for $10 all the time, which makes them $.50 each after doubling (oh and did you know that Kleenex have Box Tops on them?)
Kraft Cheese Singles: $.50: we are finally running out of cheese (from the 22 packs that I bought & froze in June in order to get free Hershey Park tickets) and there haven’t coupons for these in a long time!
Nestle Morsels: $.75: the last Nestle coupon was $1/3, which doesn’t double at most stores so it only translated in to $.33 off each. This one doubles to $1.50 at my stores which makes for some seriously cheap chocolate chip cookies (and Nestle morsels are one of my ”brand loyals” when it comes to baking)
Pillsbury Savorings: $.75: It looks like we are seeing the return of Catalina Deals on GM/BoxTops products (at Superfresh and Acme this week). While they aren’t part of the deals this week, they have been included in past deals. With a doubled value of $1.50 and a typical sale price of $3, this could come in handy
Ziploc Bags: $1/2: Target has clearanced the 25-count packages (that used to hang by the register) to $.85 or less in most stores (look in the Clearance end-caps at the back of the aisles near the cleaning products). If you can find the clearance packs, you will get 50 sandwich bags for $.70
Brawny Paper Towels: $.75: with triple coupons at Superfresh this week, this translates in to $.30 paper towels
Joint Juice Product: $1: the last time this coupon was out, I heard that they were always on sale for $1 and that they were very good AND they really do make your joints feel better! I’m old and my knees get achy, so these would be a nice freebie! Now I just need to figure out who sells the individual bottles!
Purina Mighty Dog Canned dog food: FREE (up to $.99): if I had a dog, this would be a great coupon
Smart Balance coupons: this stuff goes on sale frequently and is good for baking
Crest Coupons: not as good as last month (when I combined a $1 coupon with a 10 for $10 sale at Acme), but CVS & Rite Aid like to run “Free after ECB/SCR” deals with Crest all the time.
Dunkin Donuts Coffee: $2/2: my supermarkets seem to be running BOGO deals on a different “specialty coffee” each week. This can be combined with a BOGO sale (that doesn’t mean that you need to buy 4 in order to use it…you can just get 2 and use this coupon on a BOGO sale at most stores!)
The rest of the coupons in the Proctor & Gamble insert aren’t thrilling, but are the items that CVS typically pairs with ECB deals. While they might come in handy, they alone aren’t worth buying several copies of the paper
So how many copies of the paper would I buy?
If I were in stockpile building mode: 8-12
Now that I am in stockpile-maintenance mode: 8-12
why am I buying so many? The Glade coupons!

In my area, at least, Albertson’s has started carrying the individual Joint Juice. If you check the shelves, mine has individual bottles on the left and 4-packs on the right. (But honestly, if you grab a 4-pack and go to the self-checkout, you can ring them up as individuals and use 4 coupons. I’ve been doing that with my 11/03-expiring leftovers!)
The regular price is $1.25 for individual bottles. I saw them on sale for 88 cents a couple of weeks ago, but didn’t get out there to see if I could wrangle any overage.

How do you find out about Catalina deals?
