Coupon Insert Preview: 12/6/08

The coupon schedule is pretty slim the next few weeks and until after the first of the year, but at least they are giving us some good General Mills coupons this week!

As a reminder:  the values of the coupons in the provided link are not “set in stone” and many will change from area to area.  Additionally, when I list the number of papers that I will be buying, I take in to consideration that I am able to get it at the dollar store and only pay $1 for each copy of the paper.  If your paper is more expensive, you may not find the coupons of the same value as I do.  Additionally, the stores around me give “full doubles” up to $.99, meaning that a $.75 coupon doubles to $1.50

Here’s the link to the coupons this week

Coupons of Note:

Airwick Luminair Starter Kit:  $5 (this has been going on sale at Target for $5.99)

Betty Crocker Potatoes:  $.25 (is this a sign of the bad economy?  It’s usually a $.35 or $.40 coupon!  But these go on & off sale for $1 at most stores, which makes them $.50 after doubling)

Cheerios or Chex Snack Mix:  $.50 (these are on sale 5 for $5 [must buy 5] at Acme this week, which makes them FREE after doubling)

Colgate Adult or Children’s Toothpaste:  $.75 (CVS likes to run ECB deals on Colgate, and there is a $1 Target coupon from the Target “Flip Clip Save” book that was mailed out 3 weeks ago [you can combine Target coupons with manufacturers coupons].  Makes for some cheap toothpaste!)

Fleischmann’s Strip or Jar:  $.40 (yeast strips are about $1.80, which makes them cheap after doubling)

Green Giant Coupons:  the boxed and the Steamers have been 10 for $10 recently.  The Steamers coupon may have dropped down to $.50, but it still makes them free after doubling!

Motts for Tots Juice:  $1 (apple juice coupons are rare)

Muir Glen Coupons:  both are $.75 which makes them $1.50 after doubling.  This makes for almost-free organic soup (when on sale), canned diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, as well as free tomato paste

Pillsbury coupons:  the standard ones, but due to Holiday entertaining, there are great deals to be found (making them super cheap) on things like crescent rolls, biscuits & Grands

Pop Secret Microwave Popcorn:  $.50/2 (use this with a BOGO sale for even better savings)

Schick Disposable Razor:  $2 (WalMart has a pack that is $1.97.  These aren’t the greatest razors, especially if you are used to the more expensive ones, but they do the job!)

Glade Plug-ins Scented Oil Refills:  B1G1 (Glade Catalina deals have become a very regular thing these days, making for free/moneymaker deals.  The Target deal [on specially marked packages, through 12/15] is still working and many stores still have the refills in stock.  Grab 4, use 2 coupons.  Pay $5 and get a $5 Gift Card)

M&Ms, etc:  $1/2 (I saved the last M&Ms coupon and used it right after Halloween to score some almost-free candy.  Save this one for after-Christmas clearance sales)

Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice Product:  $.55 (don’t see a size restriction on this one.  If there truly isn’t one, the single-serves go 10 for $10 all the time, making them free after doubling)

So how many copies would I buy?

If I were building a stockpile:  6-10

Now that I am in stockpile maintenance mode:  6-8

(the way I look at it, if I go get Chex Mix at Acme, I’ve “broken even” just on Chex Mix.  Everything after that is just pure savings!)
