As a reminder, the value of the coupons that you find in your newspaper may vary from the value in the provided link! In addition, all of the stores in my area double coupons up to $.99 (so a $.75 coupon has a value of $1.50). If the stores in your area don’t double or your paper is more expensive, you may not find the coupons as valuable as I do!
Check out Sunday Coupon Preview for the complete listing of coupons (Proctor & Gamble insert preview can be found here). There should be 3 inserts this week: a SmartSource, a RedPlum and a Proctor & Gamble
Local Readers: please remember that the Philadelphia Inquirer has stopped carrying the RedPlum insert. Check the RedPlum website to see if there are other newspapers in your area that contain the RedPlum insert!
Don’t understand the terms or abbreviations that I use? Be sure to read my Coupon Lingo post!
Coupons of Note
No Yolks Noodles $1/2: these go on sale for $1 or less
Bumble Bee Coupons $1/2: these go on sale for $1 or less all the time
Green Giant Boxed Vegetables $1/3: with any luck, there will be some regional variations. This is typically a $0.60/3, making it $1.20/3 after doubling (and they go on sale for $1 all the time)
Chocolate Cheerios $1/1: these go on sale for $2 or less
Wheaties Cereal $1/1: it’s been a while since I can remember seeing a coupon for Wheaties (must have something to do with the Olympics)
Fiber One Toaster Pastries $1/2: these go on sale 3 for $5, making them $1.16 wyb 2 after coupon
Halls $1/2: hold in to it until they are on sale for $0.99
Revlon Color Cosmetic product $2/1: use it on an ECB/SCR/RR deal at CVS/Rite Aid/Walgreens
Gorton’s $0.40/1: almost all stores are having sales on Gortons right now (due to Lent)…most are having 50% off sales
Viva Big Roll $0.85/1: this used to be an incredible coupon to have for when Superfresh had Triple Coupons…but they haven’t had one in a while. Still – not a bad coupon. You should be able to pick up paper towels for $0.50 or less after doubling
Motrin Coupons: use them on an ECB/SCR/RR deal at CVS/Rite Aid/Walgreens
Special K Fruit Crisps $0.75/1: this is a relatively new product, so we should see some good sales
Pop Secret $0.50/2: goes on sale for $1 (but more frequently $1.25-$1.66)
Purex BOGO: the liquid laundry detergent is always on sale for $4 or less (and I really like the liquid…the 3-in-1 sheets got stuck in the gears of my front-loader)
Tropicana Pure Premium $1/2: they don’t release that many coupons any longer, so it’s better than nothing!
Uncle Bens Rice products $1/2: the rice mixes go on sale for $1.25 or less
Proctor & Gamble Insert: FINALLY – a good one……especially considering the $100 Year Of Savings offer and the. There isn’t much overlap with the $10 wyb $25 Catalina deal at Genuardi’s/Safeway stores (the included products are mostly cleaning products), but it’s still not bad. My favorites is the $2/1 Pampers. Additionally, if you use Olay Regenerist products (and there are always drug store deals on Regenerist), you can pick up a bunch of freebies with the coupons in this insert.
So how many copies of the paper would I buy?
If I were building a stockpile: 6-8
Now that I am in stockpile-maintenance mode: 4-6
The coupons aren’t that thrilling, but there are enough good ones to stick to my “1 paper per family member” rule

If you get an early edition of the paper, you can use the BOGO Purex at CVS today to get 2 bottles for a penny!
So, I LOVE coupons. Can’t get enough of them! Isn’t it so true that you can tell a lot about a person by looking at their coupons. Hee hee, but hey, there is no time that needs savings and coupons then now, at least in my generation. Hooray for that! Thanks for the extensive list.
