Thank you! I re-read some of your posts, and learned a lot more.
I did order some coupons from coupon clippers, and will be doing my first grocery w/coupons, run at Meijer. I did some calling around, and they are the only grocery store in our area that will double coupons, and then only up to .50! AARRRG!
Your site has been SO helpful. Thanks!

Actually Emily - most of those coupons said "One Per purchase", not "one per transaction"...and there is a HUGE difference between the two!

A purchase = an item
A transaction = all of the items that you are purchasing.

What they mean by "one per purchase" is that if you are buying 1 bottle of Tide (for example), you can't use 2 manufacturers coupons for that 1 bottle!

As for finding better inserts: I can really only help you with which paper to buy if you live in the Philadelphia area, in which case the Inquirer usually has the best inserts.

If you can't find better inserts in any papers in your area, there is always the option of buying inserts or just specific coupons from services like Coupon Clippers

I am SO new to the coupon world, and I must say that I am a little confused.
I have read every post on your blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all of the information. I have learned A LOT, but I still have a couple of questions.
I bought my first weekend paper, and was happily clipping coupons, and then noticed that all of them say 'one coupon per transaction'.
Does that mean that I can't double them?
Also, I live in a small town and our local paper only has a couple thin inserts. Do different papers have more bigger inserts with more coupons? Please help! I want to grow my pathetic stockpile. :)

I am so excited that I can freeze cream. I just bought
6 because they were on sale. Do I put the carton
itself in the freezer or dump it into something else?

I was almost the crazy lady doing a happy dance at Genuardi's this afternoon. After a total bust last week, what a gold mine this week!! I was away at my mom's last weekend and just managed to grab her inserts from the Pottstown Mercury. Blah, blah, and double blah. They stunk! I thought I could count on my neighbor (who gives me the inserts from her Philly Inquirer), but she must have only gotten the SS in her paper.

ALSO, check the backs of the sections in the Philly Inquirer. There is a 2.00/1 Wisk product, 32 oz or larger on the back of the international section (I think).

And, a Genaurdi's coupon for Claritin allergy 10 ct. or 4 oz liquid 7.99, good through 4/12. This is on the back of the Arts & Entertainment section. They are also advertising "fill your allergy prescription, and get a 10% off coupon good on your next grocery purchse". This is also for Genaurdi's only.

Here in Central IL, the Warm Delights go on sale as part of a 10 for $10 sale. So I can get them free!! Unfortunately, they only double coupons up to 50 cents. :(

First, I want to say that I have been freezing coffee creamers for years now with no problems at all. I freeze almost everything!! LOL

Now, my local Dollar Tree doesn't sell the paper inside the store. I was told that they are in those machines outside the store. So, I'm guessing they won't be $1 each.

I refer to your blog quite often and use it for reference before I go buy my extra papers!! Thank you!

I just make sure that I know what is going to be in the paper and check the papers for each insert before I buy them! If a paper doesn't have them all, I just set it aside and grab another one!

I've actually talked to the Phila Inquirer people and they said that there might sometimes be differences between stores and home delivery editions, but not store to store in the same area...and the "inside section" (classifieds, inserts, Lifestyle, opinion sections, etc) are finished a day or two before the papers come out and should be uniform within an area!

Do you ever have trouble with the coupons not being the same?

I did that a couple of weeks ago at a Wawa (bought Sunday paper on Saturday evening) and it was missing an insert - and I checked multiple papers to make sure! The next day I went back and got the Sunday paper on Sunday and the insert was there!

Now I am nervous!

I heard about it myself not too long ago (when you could get it at Target for about $.25). I bought a whole bunch and froze them and they are fine. Just pull it out of the freezer and allow to thaw in the fridge!

You can freeze coffee creamer? Seriously? Brilliant! LOL Why didn't I ever think of that before. Although, the expirations on those usually last awhile, but it's still good to know. Thanks!

I got 2 extra inserts... a smart source green and a unilever insert. In the Unilever insert there is a $.75 off of Bryers ice cream! The SS green has some organic coupons and even a coupon for $1 off of international delights coffee creamer which is my favorite.
