Big fat FAIL. Finally got through to the submit screen at 11:30am EST (page supposedly went live at 10am EST) and when I entered my info and clicked submit for the very first time, I got a “Hey , our records show
you’ve already recieved a coupon” message. Nope, no coupon. I know it’s for $1.50, but this was handled badly, just like so many other of these facebook “come back at a certain time” giveaway things. Too many people flood the servers and the sponsor finds out they didn’t test any of it to see if it would actually work.

    Did anyone get a coupon?

I did not receive a coupon. I got the same message you did when I JUST signed up. So annoyed. My husband tried to get one too and he didn’t get one, nor did a friend of mine. what a let-down!!

    WHAT A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT.

Tried for two hours to get my BOGO coupon….grrr, my time is not worth a free ($1.50) carton of eggs.

When will corporations realize that when they promote a freebie on Facebook, that their serves will go down, and customers will be frustrated.

Okay, I posted the first comment about FAIL, but I have to come back and say that I did end up getting this coupon. I followed another poster’s advice about trying with a different email address. So I first tried with the address I’d used for my facebook account, and I got the message that I’d already gotten a coupon (but I hadn’t). Then I went back and tried again using my same name and zip code but a different email address. And that worked – I got a message saying the coupon would be emailed. And just a few moments later it was. The problem then was that it was through bricks.com and I can’t load the coupon printing program on my work computer, so I waited till I got home at 5:30, figuring by then all the coupons would be gone. But I called up my email, clicked through and the coupon went right to my printer. Then I was able to back up and get a second one!

So the promotion did finally smooth out a bit, but once again, one of these companies tries a timed-release coupon on facebook, apparently thinking that only a few hundred people might show up, but then hundreds of thousands of people hit the link all at the same moment… and the company’s surprised?! Suddenly it discovers it wasn’t prepared, hadn’t tested the system, whatever. I just don’t get why these companies aren’t LEARNING from these fiascos!
