Freezer To Crockpot Cooking | Chicken Shopping List

Welcome to my new series “Freezer to Crockpot Cooking”. This series will focus on crockpot meals that are ideal for freezer bulk cooking. Each week I will post the shopping list by Wednesday and then the complete recipes and instructions on Friday.

If you do not already have a crockpot or need a new one this is a fantastic model, with plenty of room, you could even double these recipes and fit it in. It’s portable and super convenient for pot-lucks, showers, and other parties. If you want a smaller one, I have this one and love it as well!

In Week 1, we are going to focus on chicken dishes and will be making:

  • Crockpot Chicken Pot Pie
  • Crockpot Chicken Fajitas
  • Crockpot Chicken and Broccoli Rice Casserole
  • Crockpot Chicken Alfredo

Your Shopping List below will make 1 of each dish, ready to go in the freezer. If you are feeling motivated, feel free to double or triple this shopping list to make 2 or 3 of each! Each recipe will serve 4 people, so if your family is larger or you like larger-than-normal portions, you may want to increase the shopping list by 50% (to serve 6)

Without further ado, here is your shopping list for the week:

12-15 skinless, boneless chicken breasts (5 – 6 oz each)
3 bell peppers
2 onions
Box of chicken broth
White or brown rice,
1 bag shredded cheese of choice; cheddar or Colby/Monterey jack mix work well
3 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 can condensed cream of broccoli soup
1 box fettuccini noodles
1 8oz block of cream cheese
1 Package of tortillas
2 cloves of garlic
Parmesan cheese
Freezer bags-gallon
Freezer bags-quart

Pantry items: If you do not have these on hand you will need to add to your grocery list:
Olive Oil
Chili Powder
Lemon Juice

Be sure to come back on Friday to see how to put it all together!

I’m excited too! My husband is allergic to chicken so hopefully there will be some good beef & pork recipes too. I’ve learned to substitute other meats for chicken though and it usually works out pretty good, usually!!

  2. Mindi Cherry says

Oh – we have a beef week, a pork week, breakfasts, appetizers, soups and more coming. There should be something for everyone! 😉

  3. Sandy says

Requesting vegetarian/vegan recipes too please, no meat in my house! We have 2 lil ones one of who is a new baby so this will be very helpful

You got it! I am working on this series with the help of someone and we just added a “vegetarian week”. Not sure when it will happen, but it will be coming!

This is awesome. I’m a new mom who freelances from home, and I need all the timesavers I can find (plus, I love using my Crockpot). I have bookmarked this page and will try to remember to come back on Friday! I like chicken, and while I wouldn’t mind learning about some vegetarian/vegan recipes for myself, I’d be interested in beef recipes for hubby.
