When I first heard of Restaurant.com, I was a little cautious. Their everyday price is $25 for $10. Then I did a bit of Googling and found that many bloggers that I trust had used them without problems. I bought one and we used it at a local restaurant that we had been meaning to try and was happy to find that they took my cheapo gift certificate without batting an eye.
And now they have this promotion!
For the next 3 hours (through 12:00pm CDT on 10/15/08) you can get $25 gift certificates to local restaurants for only $2 when you click here and use the code: EIGHTY at checkout.
Missed the 12:00pm deadline? Then click here and use the code: MORE to get them for $4 (but hey – it wouldn’t hurt to try the first code to see if it still works, right?)
I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking “Teacher Gifts!”
Edited to add: Most of the restaurants have a spending minimum before you can use the certificate. When I used mine, it had a $35 purchase requirement before you can use the certificate. Since dinner for 2 at the restaurant we chose would run a $40-$50 (without drinks), this wasn’t an issue for us! Be sure to check the menu of the restaurant that you pick to ensure that you can meet any minimum purchase requirements. For us, this was a way to go to a restaurant that we would normally consider a “splurge” for “non-splurge” prices.

AWESOME! Thanks girl, I just ordered $225 worth for $18. The best part? They take Paypal, so it didn’t come out of my bank account.
I forwarded this to my friends and noted it on my Facebook.

I couldn’t really find anything local that we would try. Which place did you all go to?
This was a great post. Thanks so much. Bought a $25 at Cozymel’s just now for $4 (tried the first code but I got a msg that it had expired). Great deal!

The “catch” is that you have to spend money to get money- on the special instructions, it says “must spend 50″, “including two entrees”. So, this is an awesome deal, still, but you do have to spend a little out of pocket.
