So Gillette has come out with the New Fusion ProGlide razor and it actually won’t be available in stores until June. But the people at Gillette gave me one to try and 100 to give away! If you are reading this more than 30 minutes after I have posted it, the free razors are likely gone…so let me entertain you with another “let’s draft Brad in to doing my research for me” story!
Brad: Min! FedEx just dropped off this package…why did someone send you a razor?
Me: Oh great! It’s a good thing you didn’t shave yet!
Brad: because it’s my day off…..
Me: too bad. I need you to go test this razor so that I can write a review of how sexy your face feels after you are done!
Brad: Oh – you’re GOOD…that was a nice try…but why don’t YOU test it?
Me: Because it’s battery-operated. Won’t I get electrocuted if I use it in the shower? Are you trying to kill me! Besides - I already shaved my legs this morning and this razor is being marketed to men.
Brad: First – you won’t get electrocuted – those razors are watertight. Second – you already use the Gillette Fusion and that one is aimed at men, so why can’t you review this one? And third – I’m not talking about your legs.
Me: Ok….First – really? they are watertight? Second: because if they were marketing it to women, they would make it pink. And third – you want me to post a review of this razor based on my shaving my nether regions? Maybe you aren’t trying to get me killed, but you’re trying to get me shunned by the other Frugal Bloggers…aren’t you? Now get in there and shave!
Brad: But it’s my daaaaaay offffff!
Me: Look – there are over $1000 in razors to be given away and the only thing holding it up is you. Now get in there and shave or I am totally ratting you out to my readers!
Brad: Fine…I hope your readers appreciate this!
Me: yes honey – it’s a major sacrifice that you are making…having to shave on your day off. I think it is right on par with having your stomach sliced open 3 times and having them pull a person out of there each time!
So after that was settled, Brad retreated to the bathroom to shave (on his day off) and I have to say, it was a very clean shave (on his day off). He told me that there was no tugging of his skin while he shaved (on his day off).
It is still a 5-blade razor, but the blades are thinner now, which is supposed to help them glide better. They have also added mineral oil to the Lubrastrip for even more moisturizing and added a microcomb that helps guide stubble to the blade. I don’t know – it’s all very technical and the truth is, I care about 1 thing – if it works. Considering I ended up <redacted> after Brad shaved, I’d say it works!
