I’m a whore. Now – before anyone who knew me in college starts screaming “I can’t believe she is finally admitting it!”, let me clarify….I’m a Box Tops Whore. I will whore myself out to get Box Tops, to make sure that my boys classrooms win the Box Tops contests at school and I have even been known to sneak in to my mothers pantry when I am visiting to steal Box Tops off her Ziploc boxes. (one exception to the whole “I’m a whore” thing….see my Disclosure at the bottom of this post!)
One thing I haven’t mentioned much is that I am on the Board for my Home & School Association…so I know how quickly those little rectangles add up! What many people don’t realize is that most schools do not provide funding for those little extras…like assemblies, the latest technologies, Fun Fair, Fall Fest and more. At far too many schools, those funds come from the fundraising done by the Home & School and the BTFE program can be a big part of that.
The people at Box Tops For Education have set up The Marketplace. Simply put, it is just like other shopping portals that I have written about in the past, with one exception: instead of getting a percentage back in the form of a rebate, a percentage of your purchases will go to your school! This is a great way for those of you who might not purchase Box Tops-participating products to still be able to support your school…and for those who do participate in the BTFE program to increase their support even more!
Give Back Without Spending Extra: The Marketplace includes leading brands like Dell, Victoria’s Secret, Target, Best Buy—you name it. Simply join BTFE.com and choose a school to support. When you start your shopping trips through the Marketplace, a percentage of your purchases automatically goes directly to your school!
Shop for your Teachers: Looking for the perfect way to make your kids’ teacher smile this holiday? Find out if they have a My Class Essentials registry and shop for the classroom supplies they really need. Two percent of each purchase goes back to your school.
Deals and Discounts: Who doesn’t love them? We’ve partnered with more than 100 of your favorite stores to bring you new offers almost every day. Check out our Deals and Discounts Page or follow us on Twitter to receive a daily update.
To help raise awareness of The Marketplace, the people at Box Tops For Education have given me a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card that you can use at the Box Tops Marketplace to give away!

Full Disclosure: The $25 gift card was given to me for my personal use. Instead, I have chosen to give it away. I received no compensation whatsover for this post (I told you – I LOVE the Box Tops program!)

Yes, I do participate in box tops for education at our school. I help cut and sort the tops into groups. Yes, I have heard of the Marketplace a long time ago, but have never tried it. Maybe now is a good time to start!
I already subscribe… I LOVE your blog, and think that BTFE is a fantastic program. Thanks for your generousity Mindi!
Yes, I’ve been collecting BTFE for our schools. However it’s the first time I heard of The MarketPlace, I’d certainly use it to support out schools.

Yes we collect box tops for school and the whole school has a contest to see who can collect the most.
I don’t participate and I have never heard of the Marketplace but I would definitely use it to support my local school.

I used to save Box Tops when my children were in the elementary grades. I have not heard of the Marketplace

I do keep Box Tops for our school, but I’ve never heard of the Marketplace. Our school is actually having a contest right now, the grade that brings in the most Box Tops for the months of December and January, will win a popcorn party and extra recess! Woo hoo! So we’ve been saving them up! If I won the GC, I’d definitely buy a couple of books to donate to our school. They have a Salvation Army drop that collects books to give to under privilaged kids in the school district.

Yes, our schools do the Boxtops thing and I have heard of Marketplace. I try to shop at those places as often as possible. I am glad because this is a good way to support the schools.
