Pampers Deal at CVS: Quick Update

pampers-jumbo-pack

If you read this post and saw this page on the CVS website, you know that there is an awesome deal going on at CVS with PampersBuy 1 Jumbo pack at $8.99 and get back $5 ECBs.

First things first:  the most likely reason for this deal is that both Huggies and Pampers are reducing the size of their Jumbo packs (just like so many other grocery and drug-store items have been getting smaller while the price remains the same…remember when ice cream used to be a HALF GALLON??? Don’t get me started on that!).  People are reporting great deals on diapers at stores everywhere.  This could be CVS’s attempt to clear their shelf in anticipation of the new packages.

Anyway…..

As of Sunday, ECBs are NOT printing on this deal.  I went to 2 stores today.  At the first store, the manager refused to honor the deal, even though I had a printout of the page on the website because he said “cvstoday.com is a scam website” (it isn’t) and that I could call anyone at CVS that I wanted to, but he wouldn’t honor it because I was clearly trying to defraud CVS. (FYI to my super-local readers, this was the newest store on 29 at “the circle”….save yourself a trip there…oh – and I plan on calling CVS customer care tomorrow to have them contact this manager and explain to him the proper way to speak to customers)I then went to another store, showed them the printout and they pushed the ECBs through for me without batting an eye and I was able to do the deal 3 times.

Therefore, if you are going to CVS today, be prepared for the ECBs not to print, and possible attitude and a refusal to honor the deal.  It looks like the stores weren’t notified of this deal and whomever was in charge of programming the registers to activate the deal forgot to hit “Enter” before he or she left for the weekend. <sigh>

You have a few choices:

1.  Buy your Pampers today and hope that you get a nice manager like I did at the second store who will just push your ECBs through.

2.  Wait until tomorrow when CVS corporate is open.  I am sure that their call lines are flooded with complaints today and they will straighten it out first thing Monday.

3.  If you are worried that your store will be sold out of Pampers by the time Corporate gets this straightened out, go to CVS today and buy your Pampers.  Then, as soon as people are reporting that the ECBs are printing, simply return and rebuy them….your ECBs will print then!

I’ll keep an eye on this and update you as I hear more!

My manager is SO nice and I asked him before I did anything if he would honor the deal (showed him the cvs.com printout). I told him no biggie either way so he didn’t feel pressured! He had no problem at all printing the ECBs manually. They kept my printout too, so maybe that will help out?

I also sent an e-mail to cvs after I got home just saying how great he was and how good they were at handling everything, etc. I want my store to know how much I love them!

I bought the Pampers this morning and got no ECB’s. i called back to the store and spoke to a woman. My husband went in with the original receipt, a screen print of the website and our CVS card and all the cashier had to do was scan the bar code on the receipt and my ECB’s printed out so this is definitely a great deal. It’s even better if you still have some of the $2 coupons.

I had a feeling that they were reducing the size and that’s why they wanted to clear the shelves. Seems like anytime there is a super hot deal, they are either introducing a new product or trying to clear the shelves of something they plan to discontinue anyway. Whatever–great for us! I got 3 packs this morning and didn’t want to push the issue. Thanks for the update!

I too went to my local CVS and purchased Pampers EZ Ups. My ECB did not print out and after the manager read the paper print out for about 10 minutes and tried to call the help hotline without any luck finally printed out the ECB and offered up an apology!

I went today and bought the three packs at CVS and of course, no ECB’s. I asked the store manager and she had no idea what I was talking about so I went home and printed the page and returned to a closer store and had a nightmare of a time trying to get the ECB’s. First, they called the help line, who told them just to print my ECB’s (force them) The cashier stood there and argued with the person on the line about an event code and then an off duty employee joined in and they both ganged up on me telling me that it was ridiculous to get a pack of diapers for $3.99, (little did they know, I had used a $1 coupon). Anyway, they then tried to say it was $5 Ecb’s when you bought 3 packs, the limit. I pointed out that it didn’t say anything of the like on the printout and she claimed that she could not read the printout and that she was using her reading glasses. I said let’s just return the diapers, and they printed all three and threw them across the counter at me and said “Just go, we’ll do whatever you want, just go” I kinda felt like I was at Walgreens. . .needless to say, I am calling corporate tom, I have never been so humiliated in my life.

  6. Cortney says:

I read on someone else’s blog that the ECB’s are supposed to print with your 1st Receipt/Transaction in July that’s why they’re not printing now.

  7. Clodyo says:

I called CVS customer service this morning and they are aware that the ECB are not printing. I was told the problem should be resolved in 24-48 hours. If you bought Pampers and did not get your ECB you can call customer service with your receipt info and they will send them to you.

  8. Gretchen says:

Am I missing something? Or was this an error? I don’t see anything on the page linked about ECBs for Pampers. . .

  9. Jen says:

I’m not sure if its because of the ECB’s not printing, but there is nothing on the website now about the $5 ECB’s. When I went in the morning I bought 2 packs, and the manager printed the ECB’s for me, with no complaints. But she kept my paper, and since its no longer on the website, I don’t want to go back in without the paper to get the ECB’s.

  10. Katie says:

I just bought 3 after printing the paper this morning. No ECB’s printed, but the girl manually printed them for me.

  11. Haley says:

I went to my CVS this morning with printout in hand. No EBC’s printed so they called the manager. After he checked the website he gave me the $15 EBC’s. Just checked the CVS website this afternoon and the $5 EBC offer is off the web. Glad I went and did it this morning. Thanks for the heads up!

  12. melissa says:

ecb’s all gone from cvs website, like it was just a dream…
A friend went yesterday and she got her ecb’s on the pampers, no problem. Me thinks CVS did not anticipate the response to the ecb that was published on the website and shut it down. I didn’t printout the screen so I am not even gonna bother trying to get the ecb’s

  13. Bonnie says:

I don’t understand why everyone is saying that the deal is gone. When I click on your link, I still get the same thing as yesterday and I have tried several times today with no problem. Anyone who goes into the store and purchases the pampers should have no problem getting the ECB’s, just have them call customer care, they know about the deal and are going to honor it whether or not you have the paper. It isn’t a coupon, it’s a posted ECB deal and doesn’t mention bringing anything to the store.
