Pop Tarts anyone? $14.41 for all of this!

Sometimes when I take these pictures, I realize that you must think that I feed my family only junk.  Nothing could be farther from the truth!  And the pasta & powdered cheese in a cup?  Let’s just say that my husband doesn’t exactly have the most adventurous of tastebuds and likes to take simple things for lunch!

12 boxes of 12-count PopTarts

16 Mac & Cheese Cups

4 8-packs apple juice

1/2 gallon apple juice

1 box corn dogs (my older son begged)

Total of 4 transactions:

Split the Pop Tarts in to 3 transactions:  they were on sale 4 for $9 with a $5 gift card wyb 4.  Used 2 $1/2 Kellogg’s Man. coupons and 4 $.50 Target coupons.  Paid $5 and got a $5 Gift Card.  Did the deal 2 more times with the same coupons, using the Gift card as payment for each and paying nothing OOP for those 8 boxes.

Fourth transaction:  everything else.  Used 4 $1 Juicy Juice coupon (I forgot to give him the 5th) and 8 $1/2 coupons for the Mac & Cheese from the 8/24 SS.  Paid with the $5 gift card from PopTart Transaction #3 and $9.41 OOP

“Mommy…can I have a cookie for my school snack?”

“Cookie?  Cookie?  We eat PopTarts now!  You want cookies?  Go score me some coupons!”

    Use your $10 mail in refund on 10 Kelloggs products and you’ll get $10 back!! An even better deal!!

    Use your $10 mail in rebate on 10 Kelloggs products and you’ll get $10 back!! An even better deal!!

    Sorry I posted twice…I tried to change “refund” to “rebate”. I couldn’t remember the word I was looking for!! :}

  5. Mindi says:

    K. Anne: Nope – they’re just $.77 each. After the $1/2 coupons, they were only $.27!

    Shannon: unfortunately, that rebate requires that all 10 items be bought in the same transaction, so this wouldn’t qualify since I split the Pop Tarts in to 3. However, I still have plenty of Kellogg’s coupons to do the rebate (I’ve just been waiting for a good sale). I might go back and do it again and just buy 12 Pop Tarts in 1 transaction, pay $15 and get $15 back in Gift Cards…I just hate laying out $15 OOP. But it would still be a $10 moneymaker!
