Just 7 of the many baseballs created by Little League players and signed by the likes of Ryan Howard and Ken Griffey
So this post is loooong overdue, but considering that the auction starts tomorrow, it’s time for me to get the post on the site.

I'm told that Orel is a very famous baseball player. Matter of fact, every man that I know wanted to slap me for not being sure who he was!
A few weeks ago, I had the extreme pleasure of traveling to Beverly Hills, CA with my boys for the Little League Appreciation Game, sponsored by the Subway Baseball DeSigns tour. We got to meet Jared, Orel Herscheiser and Fred Lynne. I have to admit, I had no idea who any of them were, aside from Jared…but when I told the male friends in my life about the “baseball guys” I was going to meet, they promptly lost their minds.
When we landed in California, the first thing I had to do was convince the boys that it may be 3 hours earlier, but that we did NOT travel back in time. That took about the entire ride from the airport to the Orlando hotel, and I SWEAR that the driver was laughing the entire time!
The next morning, we woke up and headed to Subway for breakfast. Did you know that Subway is now open for breakfast? They have full line-up of breakfast sandwiches that include an Egg & Cheese, Steak, Egg & Cheese, Double Bacon, Egg & Cheese, Black Forest Ham, Egg & Cheese, and Western Egg & Cheese. While the children enjoyed their breakfast and colored, we had a quick chat with the PR people from Subway to learn about what programs Subway has on the horizon.
And what does Subway have for you? Well, until this trip, I had no idea that Subway has been a major sponsor of the National Little League for many years. The game that I went to was the “kick off game” for the Baseball DeSigns tour. What is the Baseball DeSigns Tour? Simply put, it is baseballs designed by Little League players, and signed by famous people. At the end of the tour, the baseballs will be auctioned off (starting August 20, 2010).
There are a total of 31 baseballs going to auction. If you are interested in placing a bid for yourself, the auction starts August 20 on eBay with the auctions ending on August 29. You can find more information about the auction, baseballs and more on the Subway DeSIGNS Tour page.
After the game was over, we went to a park in Malibu where we met with celebrity trainer Kathy Kaehler….but more on that later. I leave for a visit with my inlaws on Saturday and arrive home next Friday, and Operation Get Mindi Not Fat starts Friday August 27th…and my trip with Subway is factoring in to that!
And because I love my children and rarely post pictures of them on this site, I’m going to subject you to some more pictures before I post the details of the giveaway:

Jonathan and Fred Lynne, ANOTHER famous baseball player that my male friends wanted to kill me for not knowing who he is!

30 minutes in Malibu, and Jonathan had caught the surfing bug...and he doesn't even need a wave to do it!

Not my child, but there is just something about this picture. The great Orel is giving this child tips on playing. He probably won't realize what a fantabulous oppotunity this was for YEARS.
To help promote the Baseball DeSigns Tour, Subway has given me a $25 gift card to give away
