Target: Now With Price Matching!

target3

Last week the Target ad had a line in it about how they would match any price!  Most people weren’t sure if it was a one-week deal or a new standard policy.  Turns out – it’s a new policy!  WooHoo!

You can see the Press Release here

Here’s the Nutshell Version:

Target will match a local competitor’s price (same brand and model number) found in printed ads.  Note the exclusions at the bottom of the press release:  online sales, such as at Walmart.com will not be matched.  It must be a print circular

Target will match the price for up to 7 days after you purchase the item at Target.  If you buy, for example, a Wii game on Saturday and the next day Walmart puts it on sale for $5 less, they will price match!

All price matches must take place at the Guest Services desk (so as not to cause delays at the registers)

While the news has reached the store employees, there will not be signage in the stores until late summer.  This means that many employees may be unfamiliar with the new policy.  I strongly suggest printing out a copy of the press release and keeping it in your coupon binder so that you have it in case an employee at Guest Services tells you that Target does not price match.

I have to say – I love Target way more than “that other place”.  It’s clean, it’s bright and it’s well-stocked with mostly quality merchandise.

Now it got even better!  Thank you Target!
