Update: Herbal Essence Gorgeous Giveaway Postponed Until 10/5

herbal-essence-gorgeous-giveaway1

Due to some serious technical glitches, the Herbal Essences Gorgeous giveaway will not take place this weekend.  Check back on 10/5 for an update!

P.S.: (and I have to say – I was seriously dismayed to see how people were reacting on Facebook to the glitches.  Please remember that a company doesn’t HAVE to give you anything for free.  When there are problems with the Freebie, the correct response should not be to call the company names.  As I said on Twitteranyone who thinks mommybloggers are greedy should see how people react when a Facebook freebie link is broken! (Herbal Essences) CHILL PPLS!“)

P.P.S.:  and before anyone claims that this is contrary to my stance on the Texas Pete Freebie, those were 2 completely different situations.  Herbal Essence posted the link to the freebie (albeit 7 minutes late, which caused people to lose their minds) and when the link didn’t work, continued to work on it for the next 7 hours, posting new links, responding to comments and trying to fix the problem.  They didn’t turn around and say “oh – wait – it was a BOGO coupon, not a coupon for a free product” and then proceed to delete all the comments from people pointing out that the opposite was true.  As a matter of fact, Herbal Essences has left ALL the comments on their page, including some pretty nasty ones.  I give HUGE snaps to Herbal Essences for admitting and taking responsibility for what IS a screw-up on their part!

Thank you for saying something! I was seriously disgusted with how people were acting on their Facebook page and wrote something about it. It is shocking to see how rude and greedy people will act about something being given to them for FREE. This whole attitude of entitlement and being owed is disgusting. I’m so glad you said something because I just thought I was having a bad day. ;-)

Honestly, I just pass on any Facebook freebies or deals. Seems like no one can really get it together. I think I only still have 3 companies friended.

While we’re on the topic… have you read some of the comments of people who don’t get the high value Old Navy coupons? People are nuts over these things and get mad (jealous) when other people do get them. So, let me get this straight… Old Navy is giving you a coupon for money off their clothes when they don’t have to give you jack, and you’re whining when you don’t get a big one? I’ve gotten a 10/50 coupon which I thought was pretty awesome and used it to score a great sweater.

I agree with Mindi, Hilary, and Jennifer. I read some of the comments yesterday on Facebook and it’s revolting how people feel its okay to 1) berate a company for failing to give them something for free 2) how its okay to whine and complain that they didn’t get something RIGHT NOW and 3) how its okay to make yourself appear to be a total douche bag over a $2.00 bottle of shampoo. After reading some of the Facebook comments people posted to Pei Wei, TGIFridays, e.l.f. etc it’s a wonder companies bother with social networking sites.

With e.l.f. it still gets me that women are so damned cheap they complain about not being able to stack a free shipping coupon with another dollar, percent off, etc coupon. Cripes almighty people. Frugal is fine but cheap is just CHEAP!

  4. Heather says:

    P. S. Cheap is tacky. Don’t be cheap.

  5. Hilary says:

Heather- You said it SO much better!! LOL! That was great. And, I totally and completely agree with your P.S. statement. ;-)
