I know that, for many people, one of the biggest challenges when it comes to doing the deals at Walgreens was that the lack of a company-wide coupon policy meant that many stores just made up any old rules that they wanted.
Well, Walgreens has FINALLY addressed that problems and come out with an official Coupon Policy! You will want to print out a copy to keep in your coupon binder.
Some key points:
- When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
- The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value). Mindi’s note: no more having a cashier telling you that she can’t adjust the value of a coupon down…it’s all there in black & white!
- When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased. Mindi’s note: clearly spelling out that you can use a coupon on each product in a BOGO sale AND you you can use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale to get BOTH free, as long as the total doesn’t fall below $0.00!
There’s more, but you can read to for yourself HERE.
Thanks for stepping up and FINALLY creating an official policy Wags!
