Acme Deals: Week of 7/31

There are some great deals this week at Acme this week (I sense another “Why I Love Acme” post coming!)Don’t worry if you have a bunch of coupons expiring today (especially Proctor & Gamble)…there are FIVE inserts coming out in the paper this weekend and one of them is another Proctor & Gamble!

Note:  to maintain the “flow” of the post, the amazing Catalina deals will be at the end of this post even though the page detailing the deal was stuck between page 4 & 5

Note about the Catalina Deal:  I know that other blogs and forums talk about doing the deals based on “shelf prices” rather than sale prices.  While I know that it sometimes works using shelf price on selected items in each deal, I have always been of the opinion that the deals should be worked on the advertised prices.  While I don’t fault anyone for trying to do the deal based on shelf prices, I would prefer that any posted scenarios in the comments be based on sale prices, not shelf.  Thanks! (to see my feelings on this, check out this post and read the comments regarding Scenario #4)

Genuardi’s: Week of 7/31

genuardis24

As a reminder, Genuardi’s has recently changed their coupon policy.  Many stores now only double up to $.50 (so a $.75 coupon has a maximum value of $1, not $1.50 as had been in the past), they will only double 1 like-coupon per transaction, they no longer allow the stacking of a Genuradi’s coupon with manufacturers coupon, and there are no rainchecks (yeah – it’s a great new policy – isn’t it?)

On the plus side, Genuardi’s has some good exclusive printable coupons on their site for things like produce and meats.  Click here to see them!

Target: HUGE Toy Clearance!

target7

Word has it that Target stores nationwide are drastically reducing their toy stock (I actually heard about this while I was in Boston…more about my Boston trip today or tomorrow!) and slashing prices by up to 75%!  Make sure that you get in to check out the selection (and use the price-checker because many great items might be priced lower than marked on the shelves if the employees haven’t yet had a chance to get them re-priced with those little red stickers)

Go here to get a $5 Target coupon good off of Cranium, Things, Funglis, Taboo, or Electronic Catch Phrase (it’s with the coupons that expire 9/30/09).  Combine this coupon with a clearance item, and you might be able to score some free toys!

Free Bottle of Wisk HE Detergent?

wisk

Edited:  I am closing comments on this post because a few people have left comments on this one, possibly thinking that leaving a comment here  gets you the free detergent.  Please see the next paragraph for the link to the post for you to leave a comment!

According to Deal Seeking Mom, you will get a free bottle of Wisk HE laundry detergent when you leave a comment on this post.

There is nothing actually in the post itself that says this, but right above where the comments start, there is this wording:

By leaving a comment on the blog, you agree that Wisk® may contact you tell you about new products, special offers and promotions.

Registration subject to “Terms of Use” on www.laundryhe.com. Free bottle offer is limited to one (1) per street address or P.O. Box.  Open to residents of the [50] [or continental] United States and DC.  No purchase necessary.  Void where prohibited.  Sponsor:  Sun Products Corp.

I guess as long as you leave a relevant comments and a valid email address, they might contact you for an address for shipping!  It’s worth a try!

Considering the cost of shipping out bottles of Wisk, I’m sure this one will not last long (and I assume that they will close comments as soon as they are out of free bottles)!
