If you are looking for slow cooker beef stew recipes, this one is delicious! With just a few simple steps you can have a hearty stew for dinner!

Is there any soup or stew that screams “WINTER” more than beef stew?  Paired with a nice homemade bread, this can be a completely filling a hearty meal.  I am always looking for slow cooker beef stew recipes that are simple and that my family will love and this one fits the bill quite nicely (and there are just so many crockpot pulled pork recipes that I can make before I need something different!)

If my family wouldn't kill me for it, I would have added about a half of a bag of frozen peas in the last 30 minutes of cooking to give it some more color and bulk.  Alas, even the slightest hint of peas in my house immediately puts the recipe on my kids “not going to try it” list.  If your family will eat peas, I suggest you give it a try!

To make it, you will need:

beef stew ingredients

2 pounds Beef Roast, cubed
1/2 cup Flour
2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 tsp Thyme
1 tsp minced Garlic
1 Bay Leaves
1 tsp Paprika
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 large Onion, chopped
2 cups Beef Broth
1 lb Potatoes cubed
1 lb Baby Carrots
2 stalks Celery, chopped
2 tbsp Brown Gravy mix
2 cup Water

This recipe couldn't be simpler…..just chop your vegetables

Prepare the meat in the bottom of your slow cooker (see detailed directions below) and then dump the rest of the ingredients in the slow cooker.  In as little as 4 to 6 hours it will turn from this:

(yeah – I agree that doesn't look too great)

MUCH better!
