Each week when I do my grocery store matchups and drug store matchups, I list what I think are the BEST deals for the week.  But that does NOT mean that there are no other coupons for the items that week.  Or, maybe you just NEED to buy something one week that isn’t on sale, but you would like to see it there is a coupon available.  Make sure that you check out the Coupon Database for the latest coupons available

I am always trying to add new features to make your experience with Moms Need To Know more valuable and time-efficient.  If there is a way that I can help you, please let me know!

Free Kids Summer Reading Programs

Getting the kids to keep reading once Summer Vacation starts is always a challenge.  There are a few companies that want to help you keep your children reading through the summer with FREE Summer Reading programs:

Book Adventure - Sylvan offers this FREE reading incentive program. Basically your child reads books and then takes a simple comprehension quiz to make sure they understood what they read.  The quiz is usually about 10 questions long.  They earn points based on how much they remember from reading the book.

There are hundreds of books to choose from in all reading levels.  These are common books that can be found at your local library.  Once they have earned enough points they can trade them in for some really neat prizes!

Barnes & Noble Imagination Destination – This summer reading program through Barnes & Noble gives your child the ability to earn a FREE book after reading 8 books and keeping track of them in a reading log.

Borders Double Dog Dare Challenge - Kids ages 12 and under can take the Borders Double Dog Dare Challenge!  Read 10 books and keep track of them on the PDF form you can print out here.  Then bring it into your local Borders and receive a coupon for a FREE book!

TD Bank Summer Reading Program – Read and keep track of 10 books this summer and your child will get $10 added to their Young Saver Account FREE!

Chuck E. Cheese – Earn 10 FREE tokens every time your child reads for 2 weeks in a row.  Just fill out the form and bring it in to claim your free token.

Scholastic Summer Challenge - Log in your reading minutes to the Scholastic site and your child will be able to participate in a World Record challenge as well as earn digital prizes!

You can find these and more programs at Saving Dollars and Sense!

Never miss another deal again! Get free updates from Moms Need To Know when you subscribe by email or via RSS Feed.

Walgreens: AppliedNutrition Calcium Deal Update!

I stopped in to Walgreens today because I was hearing conflicting reports about the AppliedNutrition calcium moneymaker that I posted in the weekly Walgreens matchups…and here is what I found:

While the coupon in the June IVC Coupon Book does say that it is good on Applied Nutrition Supplements and the Applied Nutrition Calcium box DOES say “Dietary Supplement” right on the box, the coupon in the June IVC book will NOT scan. I am not sure if it is a coding error (it is working on other Applied Nutrition products) that will be corrected. The “get a $10 Register Reward when you buy 1 AppliedNutrition Calcium (90 ct)” IS a month-long Register Reward deal, so there is a chance that if it IS supposed to work for the calcium, it will be corrected by the end of the month.

But never fear – you can still get some free calcium:

AppliedNutrition Triple Calcium (90 ct), $10
Get a $10 Register Reward when you buy 1
Final price: FREE after RRs

And once you buy your calcium, look inside for a coupon book. If you get one, you can do the deal again, using your coupons and have a small moneymaker after coupon and Register Reward!
