And it was a long time ago in that most sacred of places (or 3 months ago on Wordpress) that a Mom started a blog....
And the Blog drew little attention in the beginning and the Mom despaired...
And the first Comment arrived and there was much rejoicing.
And the Mom continued to write about her children and other annoying things.
And the Mom made a point to visit the Blogs of Her Visitors and deposit Comments in their Land.
And the Visitors returned and there was much rejoicing
And the Comments and Page Views increased and there was much rejoicing and Cabbage-Patch Dancing.
And the Mom joined the Fearless Fight of the UnHoly Frump and the Page Views increased.
And the Page Views began to average 200 per day.
And the Mom continued to wonder why so many people would giveth a shit about what She had to say and stand amazed at the quantity of people interested in the excretions of her Children.
And the more established Moms scoffed at her paltry number of Views, but the Mom saw it and thought it Good.
And the Comments increased to the point where the Mom was becoming overwhelmed.
And the Mom realized that the people leaving Comments were arriving from the Land of the Wonderful
And the Husband started to question the arrival of clean socks and hot meals.
And the Mom apologized to her Wonderful Viewers of the Page and promised to make more visits to their Lands and respond to more of their Comments.

Sister Honey Bunch
And then a commenter said "Do not fret. For to be a slave to the blawg is bad. Rejoice in the comments and wash thy husbands socks."
Amen.

I know exactly what you mean! I finally started to get more comments and whatnot, but now I don't have time to respond and keep everyone's blogs and post new stuff. . .I marvel at those people who get 70 comments and think - -How do they do that? When you figure it out, please let me know.
Rhonda
I am the worst commenter in the world.
I just have to say that I love your blog, and woo hoo on those stats !!!
Mindi
Sister Honey Bunch: And the Mom said "But Lo! The Husband is home as I typeth. Verily I say to you: He is spewing sawdust all over my freshly dusted and vacuumed castle and can fix his own damn dinner"
Jersey: you get a ton of comments too! I don't know how these women that get 50 comments on each post do it!
Rhonda: thanks, but is it good? I don't know. I just see so many other blogs/forums where people are complaining that they dropped below 1000 hits per day and I want to say "Are you kidding me?".
Accountable
Yippee for you!!! I think I'm averaging about 50 and I feel happy with that, considering I really don't post photos/videos of my kids (Like FW) or really talk about my family so much.
Maria [Immoral Matriarch]
I know how you feel. God forbid we have lives outside of that land.

Behold, I sayeth to you, do not feel undue pressure to respondeth to comments, for whosoever commenteth shall also.. aw crap, this is falling apart!! Anyway, I know how it is. Real life intruded on my blogging for the last week or so- my dad had open heart surgery on Friday. So- no new posts for awhile, few responses to comments or visits to commenters, etc. and really, who cares?? My stats are going down but that's life.
Methinks you might be reading that Prayer book today??
Mindi
actually I was channelling Monty Python and the Holy Grail (as in "In the frozen land of Nador, they were forced to eat Robin's minstrels....and there was much rejoicing...Yayyyyyy!")
Daisy
LOL@ Monty Python... Always remember - the number one reason you blog is ultimately for your own enjoyment. The rest of us come along for the ride... and here, one straps on one's helmet and feels the g's!
Look - I comment without expectation. I would be lying if I said I don't care about comments - I LOVE getting comments, but I do not comment on others' blogs because I expect them to do the same. I am sure many if not most of your reader-commenters feel the same...
No worries, Mate! Comment if you can, otherwise - just relax. Oh - and have I ever mentioned to you that my hometown is Pottsville, PA - yes home to America's Oldest Brewery?? 😉
Mindi
Well Daisy, my dear chickie....whensover you shall returneth to the home of your birth, ye shall contact me, for I live just 30 minutes awayeth from said brewery.
Kelly
I think we all go through this. We want people to comment and they do, but then we get caught up with trying to comment back on all our new found friends inbetween being mothers, lovers, sisters, friends, wifes, workers, and what have you.
We can't be all things. Comment when you can. But, know people who are reading you because what you say matters, will come by no matter how many comments you leave on their blogs.
Peace
