This weeks sucks.....sucks I tell ya!
Why? Let me count the ways:
- The school musical that we have been preparing for since January is Friday night. Despite repeated assurances from a Certain Mother that she was "on it" for the last 2 months, I found out Sunday night that she "just couldn't find the time" to make all of the props for the kids. I spent all day Monday and Tuesday cutting yellow cardboard in to 17 16-inch suns and putting happy smiling faces on them, then sponge-painting foamboard and making 17 16-inch moons (complete with faces and spray glitter)
- I spent 2 hours in an auditorium with 220 screaming children at "Dress Rehearsal" last night. I get to do it again tonight.
- I got an email from the Chair of the Musical that all Grade Leaders (that's me)will be doing a "Surprise Act" after the third graders are done. That "Surprise Act"? We get to dance the Electric Slide onstage. Oh joy!
- The weather is beautiful. I came home from the store yesterday afternoon and left my windows in the car open. A bird then flew in my car and crapped all over my dashboard.
- I'm struggling with a decision to share or not share a certain event in my life on my blog, as too many of my family members know about this blog already. It is a story that they have never heard (and likely never would face-to-face, although I can think of one member of the family who NEEDS to hear it at this point in her life) and would very much upset them, although I am long-since over it. However, two of my favorite bloggers recently shared their stories and I am trying to "man up" to the task myself.
- Stuart Little has a friend
- Carpenter bees have invaded my garage
- My roots are showing
- The Queen is going through a stripper-phase
- I have PMS and have puffed up to sizes unseen since my last pregnancy
- I am out of vodka and beer just makes the puffiness worse
- I started back on Chantix to try (again) to quit smoking
Oh well - at least I got to spend some time playing with my new camera and already have pictures for tomorrow's F-F-Friday!

Say What?
"However, two of my favorite bloggers recently shared their stories and I am trying to “man up” to the task myself. "
Hey, if all your friends jumped off the bridge would you?? (said in my best mom voice)
Wasn't Stuart Little's friend a bird? Perhaps the bird that crapped in your car? If it is another mouse - then I'm thinking the plastic explosive varmints are coming to town!
Hang in there, Friday's coming! And if you can, push the mom who totally dropped the ball for the music program into the blazing inferno that is the sun!!

Isn't the Electric Slide illegal in all 50 states?

Only do what you feel comfortable doing, bloggily, I mean.
And I'm sorry this week's been so shitty.

THAT is one crappy week. You are so very right.
Go have a Yeungling. Take a deep breath.
Oh - and apparently - practice your electric slide, LOL! This too shall pass... Hang in there!

I don't know... that didn't sound THAT bad. After all, most weeks must have a minimum of 13 items to qualify as bad.
(just trying to get you to smile)
Regarding #5... I wonder if it might be what I'm thinking it could be... but regardless, writing it would be incredibly freeing for you. Even though you are long-since over it, being over something is different than being able to share it. I have my own "not able to share" event, and I know I wouldn't be able to share it if family members were reading my blog. But I wish I could, because then I'd be rid of the elephant in my closet.

Mindi, what's up with #5? It couldn't be a good idea to share just because other blogging friends have shared. If it would very much upset family members, then give them a heads up before posting that kind of event on the internet. Right?
And about #12, good luck with quitting! I struggle with that addiction too. I've got an 8 week streak going now. One thing that helps is Kefir. It's a pro-biotic drink that helps your body feel really good so you might not miss the nicotine high. Try it. 😛 I hope you are enjoying New England!
