Well, I got through Day 4 of my 10 Day Juice Fast and I have to say....Day 4 was the easiest day yet! I did "cheat" and have 1 Hershey kiss, but after all the juices made from fruits and vegetables (especially spinach & kale), the chocolate was so sweet to me that I actually spit it out. I hope this means that my goal of "resetting my tastebuds" is actually happening!
Hennyway - here is what I drank on Day 4:
Breakfast: this was the first time I had juiced strawberries and the flavor is so strong, I am convinced that I could have added another handful of spinach and 2 more kale leaves and not have noticed a difference in taste!
½ lb strawberries, 2 Gala apples, 2 oranges, 3 large handfuls of spinach, 3 kale leaves
Lunch: I'm calling this one "Cherries From Heaven" The cherries gave this juice an amazing creaminess and it was just heavenly! I will forever be grateful to The Thrify Mama for this recipe!
2 cups chunked pumpkin (I used Butternut Squash because I can't find pumpkin right now), 3 carrots, 1 handful spinach, 2 cups dark sweet cherries, 1 peeled orange
Dinner: I was a little apprehensive about juicing lettuce, but adding the pineapple and apple (as well as the pumpkin pie spice) made this one a very pleasant surprise!
½ pineapple, 2 cups cubed butternut squash, 1 Fuji apple, 1 leaf of kale, 1 romaine lettuce heart (I buy them in the bags of 3 and just stuck 1 of them in the juicer), ½ TBS pumpkin pie spice
Day 4 thoughts:
I was shocked at how much I DIDN'T want "regular food" yesterday. Juicing is starting to feel normal to me, and something that I know that I will continue to do (at least for 1 meal at day) after my 10 day juice fast is complete. Getting enough fruits and vegetables in to my diet has always been an issue for me and I love that I am getting all these nutrients in to my body!
Oh - and I was asleep by 10:30pm last night...WINNING!
I will be sharing with you my thoughts and what I drank during my my 10 Day Juice Fast and I hope that you find this info helpful!
