    My 10 Day Juice Fast | Day 5 Update (In Which, I Fall Off The Wagon a Little)

    Day 5 of my 10-Day Juice Fast was the hardest for me so far. I had a ton of running around to do during the day, I started working on getting my taxes together to meet with the accountant next month and then I had to shuttle my boys back & forth to basketball practice at night. I "fell off the wagon" in 3 ways:

    1. I mismanaged my time and found myself at Wegmans at lunchtime and REALLY needing something in my stomach, so I ended up grabbing a Bolthouse Green Goodness juice. While it is much better than all of the yummy alternatives to be found at Wegmans, it still wasn't ideal.
    2. Since the kids had basketball practice, I grabbed a take & bake whole wheat pizza while I was at Wegmans and I ended up eating a half a slice (1/16 of the pizza). Sidenote: we buy "Take & Bakes" all the time, but this was the first one that I bought from Wegmans...NOT a fan of their pizza!
    3. After reconciling 6 months of bank statements, I wanted a glass of wine - I had 2!

    So am I upset that I "fell off the wagon"? A little. Am I going to beat myself up over it? Not a chance! The way I see it, even with my slip-ups, I STILL got more fruits & veggies in my body than I did the same day last week.  I'm back on track this morning and that is the important thing! And besides - I got on the scale this morning and I am down 7 pounds!

    So here is what I drank on Day 5:

    Breakfast:

    carrot-juice

    7 carrots, small piece of ginger

    Lunch:

    bolthouse-farms-green-goodness-juice

    Bolthouse Green Goodness (store-bought)

    Dinner:

    Mean Green

    I went with a classic - the Mean Green!  6 kale leaves, 4 stalks of celery, 2 Granny Smith apples, 1 cucumber, ½ lemon, piece of ginger.

      I am with you Mindi!!! My juicer showed up this morning (gotta love Amazon overnight!) and I started this morning. The Breville juicer is fun to play with and wasn't hard to clean up. I made a double batch so I plan to have the same (celery, carrots, apples) one at lunch. Mainly because I need to run to the store to snag some veggies and fruit today.

      Not sure I will make it 10 days but love the idea of easy meals that I don't have to cook! Plus the timing worked out perfect because hubby is out of town for a few days so it's a great time to jump start. Hence the reason I overnighted 😉
