Let me be the first to say it....
Happy 39th MotherfuckingBirthday to me!
That's right! I'm old and I don't give a shit. The way I am looking at it, let the countdown to the best 40th birthday party this town has ever seen begin. Of course, I live in West Kabumblefuck where the entire town is thrown in to a tizzy over some guy in a car outside a school taking pictures (AKA: "A Dangerous Stranger Alert"), so any party with more than 1 case of Zima is considered "wild" in this town....and no - I don't drink Zima!
So what have I learned this year?
- People who have blogs are not losers looking for attention. Actually they were up until November of 2007 when I got my own blog. Now bloggers are cool people with interesting and amusing stories.
- I don't like Feeds. I know that people swear that Feedreader/Google Feeds (or whatever the hell it is called) is the best thing since sliced whole-grain bread, but I just don't get it. So, I spent the last day creating a folder of all my favorite blogs on my IE Favorites Bar and now I can just click down the line every morning.
One thing I learned yesterday: working in/managing a camera shop for 6 years in high school and college and then relying on point-and-shoot cameras for the next 17 years cannot prepare you for this camera. It came yesterday and all I can say is "I'm in big trouble and need to go out and buy me an 'Idiots Guide' ASAP !" (unless someone can suggest a good alternative book!)- I'm too old to put up with high-school bullshit. No, this isn't going to be another lament about how much I hated high school. I just refuse to put up with people who can't get out of a 16-year old mentality. I have been slowly and purposely narrowing my circle of friends. The time I spend with my children is #1 and I refuse to spend time with people I only "sorta like" any more.
- I should have started using eye cream earlier in life. When I smile, it looks like a bird has built itself a little nest on my face (and believe it or not, I actually smile and laugh quite a bit)

But first I gotta deal with Satan's Spawn from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. With any luck, he will take pity on an old lady like me and actually behave for one day.
But I doubt it!

I use Google Reader becasue I have many blogs to keep up with and I'm not always on the same computer. That way I can still keep up with the bloggers who don't post much and I'm not wasting my time clicking on unupdated blogs...

Rebecca: probably because it isn't for another year. But it will be some time in early May and a combo-party for Brad & my 40th. We were just talking last night about possibly renting out a hall - maybe even the same one we got married in, since it is only 1/2-mile away and if everyone is too drunk we could just form a Congo-line back to the house!
