    Crazy little thing called love

    by Mindi Cherry

Happy Valentines Day Internets.  Isn't this exciting?  It's such a romantic day....full of possibilities, drinking champagne and eating chocolates.   Can't you just feel it?

    You may stop vomiting now.

The reality is that Valentines Day is a suck-ass holiday created by Hallmark to make those in relationships feel superior and the singles feel lonely.  It involves fattening chocolate, champagne and ...other fattening stuff.  Valentines Day blows.

Guess who has a husband that has to work until midnight tonight?

It actually doesn't bother me that much.  BestFriendMommy's husband is in Germany on business anyway, so we will do something completely different tonight:  get the kids together to play while we drink.

In the meantime, I thought that I would take this opportunity to tell you the things I love....

    • My family.  (ok - now that I got the obligatory "mommy answer" out of the way, let's get to the good stuff)
    • Coldwater Creek.  If you ever wonder what The Queen Mum (that's me, by the way) wears, just check out this website and skip over any old lady stuff.  They have an extensive Petite line which is great for a hobbit like me!  Chicos is pretty cool too, especially now that I have a Chicos Outlet about 10 minutes away!
    • Target.  If I have to explain why, then you have never been in a Tar-jay!  Where else can you get socks this cool for only $3.00?  It makes WalMart look like....well....WalMart!
    • Butter Pecan ice cream with Friendly's peanut butter topping and whipped cream.  If you ever want to get in my pants, this is a sure-fire way (Brad learned this early).  And don't even try to insult me with that new Reeses Peanut Butter topping or by trying to make your own....it has to be from Friendly's!
    • Philosophy shower gels and fragrances.  It's like a fruit basket in my shower every morning.  Their skin care kicks ass as well
    • Asparagus.  If it weren't for having to deal with toxic pee, I could live on this stuff!
    • Cheese, glorious cheese.  And sour cream.  And cottage cheese.  Pretty much all dairy.  This is probably an indication that going completely vegan won't work for me (especially since soy milk tastes like ass!)
    •   need I say more?

So tonight I will settle in with some Yeungling, a big ol' hunk of gouda, some steamed asparagus and some butter pecan ice cream and wait for Brad to bring home the peanut butter topping.

Or I'll fall asleep on the sofa the second Lost is over.....

I'm new to the whole asparagus thing. They were on sale for $1/lb the other day and I bought some. Roasted them with olive oil and parmesan cheese. Yum. And the leftovers were thrown into the chicken fried rice dish I made last night.
