Fighting Windmills tagged me with this about 10 days ago. It's been in the back of my mind, but seeing as I have been up to my elbows in puke & poop for a week....I kept putting it off.
But now that I have no content because I have been hiding under my covers the last 20 hours my kids are feeling better, I can get to it.
It's the Six Word Memoir meme. The idea is to sum up your life in 6 words. And I choose:
"No Merry Go 'Round For Me!"
To understand this, you need to have seen the movie "Parenthood". Or, you need the ability to read the following quotes from the movie:
[Gil has been complaining about his complicated life and the fact that his wife is pregnant again; Grandma wanders into the room]
Grandma: You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster.
Gil: Oh?
Grandma: Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride!
Gil: What a great story.
Grandma: I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together! Some didn't like it. They went on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.
So even though I complain, even though I have had a rough week and even though I was STILL wiping poop up from the floor this morning (from Prince #1 not quite making it on time)....I'd still choose the Roller Coaster over the Merry Go Round.
And now I think that I will go and drive an ice pick in my eye so that I can return to my normal bitchy self.....
(oh and if you are reading this: consider yourself tagged!)

Ice pick. *lol*
I agree with you - I wouldn't change it either.

"And now I think that I will go and drive an ice pick in my eye so that I can return to my normal bitchy self….." LMAO...you are way funny.
Good for you on sticking to the roller coaster ride!

Thanks for playing, Mindi!

I love that movie. I made my dh watch it when it was on the other night. I've made him watch it a million times. I cry every time. He laughs at me. It's like tradition.

I love the six word memoir idea. Did you know it started when Hemingway was challenged to write a short story in 6 words? He came up with: 'Baby shoes for sale; never used'. My memoir is: 'no floor or ceiling, only mind'. (today anyway)
