It's the new year and if you are like most people, you have made some New Year's Resolutions! I actually prefer to set "goals" rather than make "resolutions". To me, there is just too much pressure with the word "resolutions", as if you are pledging to change your life completely. The word "Goals" sounds more like you are trying to better your life. It may sound like a distinction without a difference, but it works for me!

One of my goals for the new year is to get my family off to a better start each day and to be more intentional about the food that we put in our bodies and how we spend our time. I am excited to be partnering with Team Kellogg's to bring you some fabulous tips over the next month on we can all put our best foot forward in the morning and keep the momentum going all day long! As a busy mom of 3, wife and business-owner, things can get a little crazy in this house!
That's why I love this Tip #27. As moms, we tend to take care of everyone else first and ourselves last (IF we have time). This tip reminds us that, by taking care of our bodies AND minds, we are better able to take care of those in our lives. For years, this house was a madhouse in the mornings. The kids and I would all wake up at about the same time and then there was the mad dash to get everyone off to school. I was trying to squeeze in a shower between making breakfasts and making sure that everyone had their books, music instruments, etc and made it to the bus stop on time. By the time everyone was off to school, I was so stressed that I was ready to just crawl back in to bed (and did just that quite a few times). I decided that this needed to end!
Recently, I started setting my alarm so that I am awake at least an hour before my children. This gives me time to get a shower, have a cup of coffee, check my emails and just get my head in the right place before the morning craziness starts. It's a small change that has made such a difference in the rest of my day!
Be sure to check back over the next few weeks as I share more great tips from Team Kellogg's about how you and your family can have a great start each day!
