5 Fun Ways to Teach Kids About the Bible
Some of us grew up learning about the Bible, while others weren't so fortunate. If you're looking for fun ways to teach your kids about the Bible, look no further! You can follow my Fun With The Kids Pinterest Board for even more ideas, or search for "Sunday School Ideas" to find your own.
Play Games!
Bible Ball - Teach kids the books of the Bible! Say "Matthew!", then pass the ball to one of your children, and they say "Mark!". They toss it back to you (or to one of their siblings) and they yell "Luke!".
Cup Stacking - Another game to teach kids the books of the Bible. I found this idea on Pinterest, and I love it! It's perfect for kids that can read. Check it out here: Cup Stacking Bible Lesson
Bible Board Games - You can easily make your own Bible Board Game, or try one like Children's Bible Trivia to get the party started!
Give Rewards!
Positive reinforcement, and rewards, are always encouraging! For each Memory Verse your children memorize, give them a sticker. For older kids, you could do a Memory Verse Chart. Set it up like you would a Behavior Chart, giving a mark for each verse that is memorized. When they reach 5 (or 25) marks, they get to pick out of the Treasure Box! Fill the Treasure Box with books like 365 Read-Aloud Bedtime Bible Stories, or Bible Verse Stickers.
Sing Songs!
The fastest way to learn something is to sing it! Thanks to YouTube, and CDs like Alphabet Chorus Songs, it's super simple to get kids excited about Jesus!
Pray Together!
The family that prays together, stays together! Teach kids how to pray by using these free printable prayer prompt cards.
Start by saying Grace at the dinner table, before each meal. Set a good example by showing the kids how you pray, but let them have some creative freedom when it's their turn to pray.
Craft Together!
Whether you're creating Sunday Story Stones (we used stickers like these because I'm not an artist!), or creating Noah's Ark, your kids love crafting with you!
Some of my other favorite Bible Crafts include:
-- Books of the Bible Cereal Boxes
-- Disciples of Jesus Egg Carton
-- F is for Fish (Beaded Fish)
-- Jonah in a Fish
Again, search "Sunday School Ideas" or "Bible Crafts" on Pinterest to get tons of ideas. Pretty much any craft you're wanting to do, you can at least add an element or two to help your kids learn about the Bible in their every day lives.
