As I have mentioned before, we are trying to make some changes in the way we eat in this house...and while I can rattle off the best prices for so many "regular" products at the supermarkets, I am still learning what the best prices are on organics.
So last night, I was on Twitter and asked my friend The Thrifty Mama is she knew the best online places to buy organic sweeteners. She did some poking around and told me that this deal on Amazon is "unheard of" and I thought I would pass it along:
You can get Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Raw Blue Agave, 44 Ounce Bottle (Pack of 2) for $13.78 with FREE shipping when you use the "Subscribe & Save" option! You can cancel the Subscibe & Save at any time and shipping is FREE!
And then, when I was checking out that deal, I noticed another fantabulous deal! We have switched to mostly coconut oil in this house already, and when I buy it at Giant, I paid $12 for a 14 oz bottle (at which point, my husband promptly had a heart attack in the store). Amazon has Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 15-Ounce Unit (Pack of 2) for only$10.40 when you use the "Subscribe & Save" option. That's less than I paid for 1 jar!
As always, please remember that prices on Amazon.com can change at any time (usually once the vendor that is offering it at that price sells out and Amazon redirects to another vendor for that product)

That's a great price for that coconut oil. (That's a great brand, by the way, the only one I buy; not all coconut oil is created equal.)
I often buy it by the gallon (I know!) online, but when I do have to buy it at the whole foods store in that 15-oz size, I know I pay more than $10. *clunk*
Mindi Cherry
and that is TWO jars for $10!

Do you use cocunut oil in place of vegetable oil? I would love to switch to something that is non hydrogenized!
Mindi Cherry
I have been using it for that...sauteeing, frying, etc.
It also makes a great hand moisturizer!

in addition to using coconut oil instead of vegtable oil, it is GREAT for the hair!!! I but coconut oil that has other junk in it at a beauty supplyt store $7 for 1 ounce, and put it on at night, sleep with a plastic shower on, and wash in the morning. I do it once every 2 weeks and it makes my hair so strong, shiny and healthy looking

i am curious, why coconut oil for sauteeing, etc instead of olive oil or canola oil?
I don't know any thing about coconut oil.
