    It's a Steel Cage Match!

    by Mindi Cherry

I owe a lot of people a lot of responses, emails and blog visits and I promise I will do so later tonight (after the extra loads of laundry from last night, bleaching/cleaning the bathroom floor & carpets from last night, a Club Board meeting tonight and putting the kids to bed), but I have to get this conversation down before it leaves my head.

When my kids have "gastrointestinal issues"  we always switch to Lactaid in the house.  Only we don't call it Lactaid....it's "Dr. B milk" because it doesn't matter if Mommy tells you to do it.  If Dr. B says to do it then that is as good as if it was announced by a choir of angels.

At the house after we got home from buying Lactaid:

Prince #2:  mommy - why do we need Dr. B milk?

Me:  because you have a virus in your tummy and this is the milk you drink

P2:  will Dr. B milk get rid of the virus?

    Me:  it will help!

P2:  and I got sick 4 times and had diarrhea 2 times....I have 6 viruses in my tummy, right?

Me:  sure - I hope they all go away soon.

P2:  can I have some cheese?

Me:  remember the rule?  no regular milk when you have a virus because it might make you sick again

P2:  because I have virus? (throws self on floor and quickly gets up).  Guess what mommy?

    Me:  what?

P2:  the viruses are fighting and I think 2 of them just got killed

    Me:  that's great!

P2:  (throws self on floor again).  Now they're all dead!  I feel much better.  Can I have some cheese now?

Me:  how about a rice cake with peanut butter instead?

P2:  oh - that's just what I wanted!  Thank you Mommy.  That's very nice of you!

I swear to God...I think I'm homeschooling that one because I don't know how I am going to stand being away from him!
