    Keeping the Princesses on ice

    by Mindi Cherry

    FacebookPinEmail

This is a new development in our home:

So I guess my question is this:  is my daughter preparing for a lifetime of cannibalism by keeping the princesses in the refrigerator and sauteeing Tea Blossom?  I should mention that this is not a one-time event.  When I tell her to pick up her princesses and/or clean up her kitchen, this is always the finished product!

Boys are easier - they just pop off the heads and gouge out the eyes and no one thinks anything about it......I guess that the bright side is that a dinner of Disney Princesses and Tea Blossom would be low-carb!

This is definitely not something that you daughter should continue. I do think that you need to help lure her away from this behavior. When she's playing and puts her doll to cook, take it out, continue explaining to her that she shouldn't cook the doll. Compare the doll to yourself or a friend she has, helping her understand why she wouldn't want to cook the doll. I hope I made sense.

Wow - my Snark-O-Matic must be on the fritz today because this is the second post in 1 day that people took too seriously.

Nnicki - thank you for your advice. I know that you offered it with the best of intentions, thinking that it was something that I was actually concerned about.

But the fact is that The Queen is only 19 months old and at this point she can pretend to filet the princesses for all I care. She is still overjoyed when I let her loose in the Tupperware cabinet, so I don't think that she quite yet has the critical thinking skills to believe that eating boy-crazy-teenage-royalty should be a lifetime goal.

Matter of fact, the only thing that she could really do at this age to upset me would be to take up pole-dancing (especially since she already has a pair of clear heels....they are Cinderella slippers, but they are clear nonetheless)

LOL The comments are just as funny as the post!

Your daughter is so sweet.. well, at least the back of her head is. My oldest had blond curls like that as a toddler, too.

Great post, Mindi! When children mix their toys it's just a sign of creativity. You're right not to worry about it. LOL at the Snark-O-Matic on the fritz!

My daughter refuses to play with dolls altogether. If I try to give her one of the many dolls or stuffed animals that she has received as presents, she violently tosses them. Maybe something is happening with girls today. A revolution of sorts.
