I am spending the day in Hershey, PA today as part of a blogger event and cookie exchange. We spent yesterday at Chocolate World and having a lovely dinner and today we are spending a large part of the day learning about Milton Hershey (the man) and visiting and learning about the Milton Hershey School.
I have heard of the Milton Hershey school many times, but this is the first time I am going to get an up-close-and-personal look at this foundation that does so much for at-risk children.
I have so much to share with you about this trip (including an awesome giveaway when I get back), but for now, I am off to bake some cookies in the Hershey Test Kitchens.

The picture above is actually the Hotel Hershey. I am from up there and my sister actually works for the school. She is a house parent to 12 high school girls. Let me know if you want more info about the school. Its amazing!

After spending a few hours last night with a house parent and the 8 children in their house, all I can say is tell your sister "THANK YOU". What those House Parents do for those children is nothing short of amazing.
(FYI - I'm actually staying in the Woodside Cottages at the Hotel Hershey. This trip was supposed to be more about holiday baking than anything, but the time that I spent learning about the students and then hanging out with them last night was life-changing and truly the highlight of this entire trip)

I thought that looked like the Hotel Hershey!! I'm from the area and I used to work in the reservations office for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts. It's pricey, but if you can afford it, it's such a wonderful place to stay! Oh, and the spa! So relaxing!!

Teresa - like most Brand/Blogger events, it was by invitation from the PR person. There were only 12 of us from around the country that attended.
