Did you know that you can score great deals during specific months of the year? December is a great month to shop for everything from gift cards to holiday dinner ingredients. Let's take a closer look at the best things to buy in December.

1. In-season Produce:

If you find yourself throwing out produce that seems to spoil too quickly, you will want to check out these ways to make your produce last longer!

Brussels sprouts, Bosc pears, dates, grapefruit, oranges, mandarins, mushrooms, squash, yams, and turnips are all considered “in-season” in December and not only at their peak flavor, but at their lowest prices.

2. Gift Cards

Did you know that you can score great deals on gift cards in the month of December? A number of big box stores sell packs of gift cards at 20% off. This means that you can score five $20 gift cards for only $80. Restaurants also give away gift cards when you spend a certain amount on gift cards.

3. Electronics

While Black Friday may be one of the best times to buy electronics, you can find awesome deals in December as well. For example, during the last week of December, stores start lowering the price of TVs and encourage people to upgrade for the upcoming Super Bowl. You can also score great deals on laptops and computers.

Whether you need to make $100 for an immediate expense or are just looking to increase your income or savings, you won't want to miss these tips!

December is a month when we can all use a little more money!

If you have kids, December is a great time to shop for toys. There are so many deals and many places have buy one get one free sales. Some stores even have sales on this year's hottest toys.

Flour and sugar are always on sale in anticipation of cookie baking season and will keep on the shelf for several months.  Make sure to buy a lot so you can stock your stockpile.

Speaking of Christmas, the week after Christmas is also the best time to buy wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, gift tags, and greeting cards. Why spend a lot on items that are meant to be throw away?

9. Christmas Candy and Goodies

Last, but not least, the week after Christmas is the best time to buy Christmas candy and goodies. These items are marked down at huge savings. Stock up and you won't have to buy candy until the after Valentine's Day sales.
