    Creating Your Own Vegetable Garden

I mentioned before that I do like to grow some of our own vegetables & herbs in the summer.  With this being Earth Day, it seems like a perfect day to encourage you to try it as well!

Mary at My New 30 has been building a Square Foot Garden, which is all about creating an area where you can grow the maximum amount of food in a minimum of space.  I've been watching her updates and she has encouraged me to "step up" my vegetable garden this year.  I'm not sure that I can talk Brad in to putting boxes in the back yard, but perhaps a small one as well as a bunch of potted vegetables!

Click here to read her first post in the series.  As she adds new posts, she is updating the old ones so it is really easy to navigate through and watch her progress and get all her great tips!  She doesn't claim to be a Master Gardener (that's my mom), but she shares some great everyday tips for creating your own vegetable garden!

    Thanks for the inspiration Mary

(note:  if you checked this post earlier - yes, I did get type the wrong name originally.  I'm out of coffee in the house and too lazy to go to the store!)

Hi Mindi! Thanks for the shout out. I am so thrilled that you have been encouraged by the series!! That's really why I decided to chronicle it to begin with. So far I am really loving the SFG method over my old row method. We'll see how it goes!

Do one 4 x 4 and I'll bet hubs will be sold on the idea for next year!!

      Thanks again,
      Mary
