Talk To Me Tuesday: What Do You Want To See at MNTK?

And here is where I open myself up for your naked criticism....

If you could change one thing about Moms Need to Know, what would it be?

More freebies?  Less freebies?  More recipes?  Posts that fall outside of the area of money (like parenting/marriage/family issues)?  Fewer posts?  More posts?

(ok - I know that at least one of you will ask:  "When are you getting your Giant post up for this week?"  Let me answer that one for you:  I have a meeting at 1:30pm today and as soon as it is done, I'm doing the Giant post!  It's a VERY hectic week for me...friend me on Facebook by clicking on the Facebook icon in my sidebar if you want to keep up with the lunacy that is my life)

So let me have it!  How can I improve this site?

I enjoy all of your posts but more recipes and things outside of money would be fun in addition ... 🙂

Maybe you could create a post simply titled "Your best deal of the week." Then we can give alerts about out of the ordinary deals that we might find. It will also give us a chance to post the best deals for Weis markets and others stores in Central PA. For example, Karns Foods had a deal the other week for Pop Tarts. They were 3 for $5 but almost every box has a $1 off coupon attached so they were selling for .66 and .67 cents. It would be nice to communicate things like this here because your blog is so simple to use. I have found other sites that other local folks use but they are impossible to navigate. They are more trouble than they are worth. So, thanks for the great site and all your hard work.

Thank you for all your hard work. You save me money! I'd like to see sales and coupon matchups to stores like Redner's and Thirftway, smaller stores.

I know you already have your hands full with the grocery sales fliers and coupon match ups but more info on match ups at Walmart or Target would be nice. Every once in a while I know you mention exceptional deals for different stores and it would be nice to have them more often.

I don't have a ShopRite anywhere near me, so I don't get the ads
HOWEVER: I will be starting a Philly Grocery Round-Up soon and am looking for other bloggers who post deals at the stores that I don't cover.
I received an email from a blogger today who covers 2 stores on her site and will be posting links to her as well as other Philadelphia stores.

That feature will probably start next week....I'm just trying to get through this week (I'm running a major event at school on Friday night and hosting a party at my house for about 80 people on Saturday)

I have really enjoyed your posts about coupon issues, particularly how straight forward you have been. I wouldn't mind seeing more of your opinions/thoughts on other frugal issues, or local PA/tri-state recreation ideas. Thanks!

I like your commentary. Sometimes just the deals gets a little dry on some other sites, so keep mixing in your personality!

Love the local aspect. How about people contributing other great places for food, this state really grows a lot and there are so many wonderful orchards, etc. There are also great Amish stores that are wonderful for bulk buying and cheap cheese and I like supporting them so they can stay on their land.
Also, a bit off OT but very consumer related.Check out the attorney generals web site for our state(probably the same type of thing exists in other states) You can e-mail them questions if you think that a store for example is doing something misleading. For ex i asked them about how at CVS they advertise buy XX dollars and get Y dollars ECB but it is impossible to only spend XX dollars, you have to spend more because of the prices on the individual items.I got a reply the next day.I also filed a complaint with the attorney general's office about some issues i have had with a local telecommunications company. They are investigating. You may not think that they will care about one small incident but they look for patterns of problems and that takes more than one complaint. I filed the complaint because I was angry, but mostly because I know there are people I know who would have gotten ripped off and would not have been able to stand up for themselves.

I do not have a Giant or Acme or even a Target. So I would LOVE to see more coupons and sales at Wal-mart!!! Thanks sooo much for all your hard work!

I agree with Tonya. We, your readers, should post deals that we have gotten.
Today I spent about $26 at Walgreens for over $100 worth of stuff using coupons and rolling their register Rewards. The cashier was great especially when she found out that the stuff that I wasn't going to use was being donated to A Woman's Place for Domestic Abuse.

I agree with another reader... Redners post and weis. I used the $1/2 ballpark coupons on 2/$3 and got them for $1 a 8 hot dogs. Also they have 5 for $19.95 (they had perdue frozen dinosaur chicken nuggets so I got a 2 lb bag for $3 each after $1 coupon!)

The best deal of the week is a great idea and it gives your readers a chance to post to each other. A forum would work well for that too.

I think you have a pretty good balance of posts with freebies, store posts and ethics. And the layout and clarity of the deals is just perfect. Some of the sites are so confusing that it takes forever to plan a list.

For me recipes would be great. Many of the pictures on sites that offer frugal meals look like stuff my kids wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

I shop at Acme most and after the first week of running around trying to grab all the deals, have decided to try to stick with just Acme and Costco. Plan on adding Walgreens to my weekly trips soon so really you already cover my stores.

One thing I do especially like are Catalina scenarios and more of those would be great.

Not that I want you to have bad days or experiences, but I love your rants. . . maybe because I feel the same way most of the time. I think it's cool to hear your opinion on things, it does make for a nice change of pace from just the deals that most sites have. Keep up the awesome work! I also like the Deal of the Week Idea. . . maybe a Mr. Linky kinda post, that would be cool and since you have so many readers, probably very informative.

I love all the freebies you post. This site is great...I look forward to all the new posts every morning!!

I like the best deal of the week idea and more focus on the sales locally, in the tri-state area....Thanks!

I love your site, even if I don't live in your area. I love the freebies and coupons. I would also love more recipe and "other" posts too - like parenting/marriage/life/etc. Thanks for running a great blog!

Deal of the week is a cool idea. I guess I'm boring (and probably b/c we live in the same area), but I love everything just the way it is. I don't have a clue how you fit it all in, but I LOVE it!

Deal of the week is a good idea. I'd also love if you could do Weis deals as well.
I really like your couponing ethics occasional series, and I have pointed so many people your way for basic couponing information.
I'd probably find your views on the other parts of life - parenting, marriage, politics, etc. -- pretty interesting, but I honestly think those topics would clutter up the great dollar-stretching content you have here.
