6 Ways To Save On Gas

Gas prices are starting to get a little more reasonable right now, but the next inflated situation is always right around the corner. When gas prices go up, they do so quickly and without warning. Because of this, we need to be careful about saving it where possible. We also need to understand how precious of a resource gasoline is and conserve where we can.

Here are six quick and easy ways to save money on gas on a regular basis:

Limit Trips To The Same Places - Make a plan and stick to it when you head out for your chores and running. Most people wing it and often find themselves backtracking several times per day. Start menu planning so that you only have to run to the grocery store once a week. If you plan out your trips the day before, you will be amazed at how much gas you will save over time.

While you are saving money on gas be sure to save some money on your car insurance!

Tune Up The Car Regularly - I admit that I am bad at this, but I am trying! My husband hates paying for a tune-up, but we realize that the car running properly is a huge key to gas efficiency. If you tune it up on a regular basis, your car will use the gas much more sparingly. A well-tuned vehicle is a pleasure to drive as well.

Keep an Eye On Air Pressure In Your Tires - The right amount of air pressure in your tires is a huge boon to gas savings too. All you have to do is check them each time you gas up. Keeping a tire gauge in your console or glove compartment is easy to do and can save you money in the long run. Perfect tire pressure varies from tire to tire to be sure to check with your local mechanic for your best option.

Shop Around For Gas - With all the cool apps and website opportunities out there now, it is extremely easy to find the cheapest gas in your area. Shop around and don’t be dedicated to one specific place. Many grocery stores now have programs that give you savings on gas based on your purchases. Never be afraid to switch if you are getting a better deal.

Plan Your Gas Purchases Rather Than Last Minute - When you are caught with no gas in the middle of nowhere, you are not only risking your safety...you are also forcing yourself to buy gas wherever you can find. This can lead to putting subpar gasoline in and also spending far more than you should. Fill up your tank on your schedule and always be in control of where you are getting your gas.

Buy a Fuel Efficient Vehicle - Last but not least, you should drive a vehicle that allows for gas savings when possible. Yes, that Hummer is a ton of fun and really cool looking to some people. No, you will not save any gas money by driving it. Get a car that is energy efficient and you will be doing more for gas savings than anything else you could do (and it is good for the environment!)

When it comes to purchasing a fuel-efficient vehicle, it’s important to choose a dealership that offers a variety of options tailored to your needs. Billingsley Ford of Duncan is an excellent place to start, with a wide selection of eco-friendly vehicles that combine efficiency, performance, and affordability. Whether you're looking for a hybrid, electric, or a high-mileage sedan, their knowledgeable team can help you find the right model that aligns with your budget and lifestyle. Additionally, their financing options ensure that you can drive away in your new fuel-efficient car with flexible payment plans that fit your financial goals, making the transition to a more sustainable vehicle even easier.

I like to save on gas by shopping at Kroger and taking advantage of their 4x fuel points on gift cards promotions.
