I have to admit, when my in-laws told me a few years ago that they were making a special trip to Branson a few years ago, I couldn't figure out why...then again, at the time, I wasn't a fan of country music like I am now. They swung by our house on the way home and raved about the great time that they had!
Fast forward to today, and the people at Hilton asked me to take a look at the city of Branson and what it has to offer, as well as the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel as a destination for a vacation and now I'M thinking about taking a trip to Branson.
What is there to do in Branson besides a ton of live music shows?
- Silver Dollar City’s National Kid’s Fest
- Stage One National Dance Finals
- Payne Stewart Golf Club
- Performances by Travis Tritt and Tanya Tucker
- Just a few miles from outlet shopping at the Tanger Outlets
- Branson Landing is a new 110 store shopping and entertainment venue and looks AMAZING. It includes shows from 65 South, Colgate Country Showdown with KHOZ 102.9, EXILE, The Nashvegas All Stars, and the Liz Moriondo Band!
Both the the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel have some sweet vacation packages that they have put together for the summer. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway package, a golf package or to take the family to Silver Dollar City, there is a package for you!
Have you ever been to Branson? What are the other must-do and must-see events and attractions?

I grew up going to Branson every Summer with my family to camp and go to Silver Dollar City-- I LOVED it!
As a college student, I continued tradition and travelled with my friends-- lots of good/clean fun things to do-- Baldknobbers is a GREAT fun/clean/comedic show! Dixie Stampede is fun for the family-- food is so/so but the atmosphere is great! Country Tonight is one of the best 'all round' shows. It's not just country music. I can't say that I am a country 'fan' but I LOVE this town and all it has to offer.
Fishing/boating activities on any of the many lakes, phenomenal--trout are biting!
As an adult, my husband & I purchased a timeshare in Branson and continue to fly back at least once every few years (We live in NY & now have a 4 year old daughter). Silver Dollar City is phenomenal! Lots to see & do for adults & children of all ages. I have enjoyed it at EVERY stage of my life thus far. ( I am 33 and I've been going since I was 5)
If you go to Branson, take a day and go South of Branson to Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and on down to Eureka Springs, AR-- I promise it is WORTH the extra hour/two...scenic and so much to explore! Take in the Passion Play-- tour the shops...

We were in Branson in June for the Stage One Nationals Dance Competition. It was a blast. We truly loved the new Branson Landing down by the water. There is a fountain show with lights/music/fire periodically. We actually went two times to shop and eat. We enjoyed a meal at the Fish House Restaurant on the water down by Bass Pro, and at Famous Dave's.
We also did Dixie Stampede since Branson is known for shows and we had been wanting to see it since our trip to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. We all really enjoyed the horses/history/musical and the food was good. Great atmosphere.
We also toured The College of the Ozarks and ate at their Lodge restaurant. Impressive place. The students help plan/prepare/serve as part of their tuition.
We also went out on the Lake boating/tubing etc.
Lastly, we also did Silver Dollar City which was a lot of fun but our kiddos were only interested in rides, no shows here.
My 10yr old DD (and dancer) wants to go back soon, her 14 yr old brother not so much--unless his uncle tows his boat up again!
We stayed at Thousand Hills Golf Resort in a two room condo with visiting family. It was very nice and close to everything. Took less than ten minutes to get to the Landing area.
