CVS: I'm breaking up with you!

    by Mindi Cherry

    Dear CVS,

It was fun while it lasted, but I think that the time has come for us to go our separate ways.

Like most relationships, it was great in the beginning.   The bloom was still on the rose, so to speak.  You were fresh and exciting and new.  You kept giving me reasons to come back to you....the free toothpaste, the cheap diapers, the way you looked longingly in to my wallet and begged for more.  My money played hard to get, and that just seemed to make you woo me even more.  You helped me build an immense stockpile of shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes and razors...all for just pennies on the dollar.  You pulled out the big guns when you gave me all the free conditioner I could ever want.

But then you started to pull back from our relationship.  The more I gave, the less you gave me in return.  You lowered your limits to 1 per card, instead of the usual 3-5.  You trained your cashiers to treat couponing customers as if they were thieves.  It was as if you were saying "Yeah baby - I got you now....where ya gonna go?  Rite Aid?".

You can only push a woman so far before her eye starts to wander.

Well that's right....my eye has wandered to Rite Aid.  They may not take Internet Printables, but they have better deals these days.  They usually have adequate stock of the sale items.  Their cashiers don't lose their mind if the register beeps.

We will need to get together one last time in order for me to give you back your stuff.  I have some ECBs to give back to you and you can give me some diapers.  I will miss you, but I wish you well.

Maybe we can still be friends.

    Love,

    Mindi

(PS:  this is why I haven't been posting your sales on my site all this time.  Besides, I know you have been wooing many other blogs.)

I am considering RiteAid too. I just need to go and figure out the system. I think there are two closeby.

I haven't stepped in CVS in at least a month, there is nothing to get me excited about even going in.

Do both the Rite Aids by us have the same rules for internet printables? I know at some point I will have to bite the bullet and start shopping there, but I do have enough stockpiled to be able to procrastinate about it a bit.

Psst... Walgreens is coming soon. That's right. They are to build one on Township Line across from Rite Aid and Acme. Is it okay to go on over and tell the workers to go faster? I guess a bullhorn and a whip may be a tad too much.

I have been watching the Walgreens construction, though I think their register rewards can be a bit of a pain

Oh you make me feel so much better! I lost my beloved CVS of only 4 months when I had to move to CO the land of no CVS. I have had to learn how to play the Walgreens game and while my first trip to Rite Aid was a complete waste (item was out of stock) I LOVE that I have Walgreens and Rite Aid literally across the street from eachother!

Thanks again for making me feel like I am not missing out on much.
