No? I am.
And nothing thrills me more than a good sale. Problem is, my idea of a good sale and Brad's idea of a good sale are two different things.
I swear, I once almost had an orgasm in the checkout line at Coldwater Creek because I had $300 in gift cards and another $75 in cash that I turned in to approx $1500.00 worth of clothes. Brad didn't understand why I needed to spend the cash (it was money given to me as a gift from family anyway) when I was already getting so much other stuff. Couldn't I just be happy with spending the $300 in gift cards and use that cash to fill up my gas tank? (uh...NO!)
So when I told him about "professional couponing" and "CVSing" (two things I recently learned about), he was a little interested. Me getting excited about shopping for things that we actually need (and not in the "I need a new blue suede jacket" way of needing)? And then getting them for free? He was on board.
So after I pulled myself out of bed, in to the shower and got myself seriously drugged up with cold medicine, we went out for our very first trip. You can read about it on my new other blog "The Royal Mother". Finally, "Nice Mindi" will have her own blog.
But check it out to see how I got 7 boxes of cereal for $1 (not each...$1 total) and a whole bunch of stuff at CVS with them basically paying me $.48 to take it out of the store

I used to be a coupon demon... I need to get back into the habit. Even now, when I use my frequent buyer card at the grocery I get a secret thrill when the cashier tells me how much I saved.
blog hoppin' - etcetera

Where does one learn about professional couponing?

The first time I ever heard about this was through Wordpress....this post:
http://danandkeren.wordpress.com/2008/02/01/surviving-and-thriving-on-a-20-or-less-per-week-grocery-budget/
was on the main Dashboard for a few days.
From there I ended up clicking through and found http://www.moneysavingmom.com
http://www.imommies.com
MoneySavingMom has a great "primer" on how to get started with CVS & Extra Care Bucks (look on the right-hand side for "CVS 101"). The idea is to start with a small amount out-of-pocket and then just continue to roll the earned ECBs in to future purchases, earning more ECBs in the process. This was my first week and with coupons & deals, I ended up earning about $.50 more in ECBs than I spent. ECBs are "CVS cash" so you can use them to buy anything at CVS, with the exception of gift cards, cigarettes, stamps, etc...the usual exceptions.
As for the groceries - I used the tips from MSM to get the cereal (I always clipped coupons, I just never used them "smartly" or went online to find more). They will tell you on that wesite when there are "can't-miss deals" at the supermarkets
I'm using those websites (along with http://www.coupon.com)and "blogroll surfing" to find the best deals.
