So remember when I said that Coupon (my dog, yes - that is his name) has never tried wet food? Well, we decided to give it a try! Armed with coupons from ALPO® , we tried out the Homestyle Prime Cuts Gravy Cravers.
Like I said before, we normally just keep dry food for him out at all time, so he kind of gave me a mean look when I grabbed his bowl and dumped out all the food. I opened the can and it looked...well ...like dog food! But it wasn't the dog food that i remembered from YEARS ago when it was just a can of "mush". There were nice meaty chunks in there and plenty of gravy!
I filled his bowl and put it down on the floor for him and he went to check it out, and then just dug his face in the bowl and went to town! He really seemed to like it. I can tell, because every tie that I tried to get his attention so that I could take a picture, he growled at me.
As I said, this was his first time having wet food andhe does have a sensitive stomach, so we didn't want to overwhelm him and give him the whole can and have it be too rich for him, so we only gave him a half a can and waited to see how it would settle in his stomach. I am happy to report that, several hours later, he seems to be fine. I know that this will be a nice treat that we can give him that he will enjoy!
Do you give your dog wet food or dry food?
