We always talk about how we need to support our military more, but few actually do something about it. They put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms that we often take for granted....and they do it for very little pay. When they come home, many find themselves without a job and struggling to survive financially. For the month of June 2013, Dollar General has selected Sparky Edwards as their Everyday Hero. Sparky is a decorated and retired military veteran who served in both South Korea and Iraq. With the help of the National Guard Youth Academy, Sparky went from being an at-risk teen to earning his GED and serving inthe military. Today he is a successful business owner who voluntarily mentors at-risk teens. Make sure to watch this video to learn more about Sparky and the Everyday Hero program!
