Food Myths Debunked - You CAN Refreeze Foods! #fightbac

Ever wonder if all of those food preparation "rules" that you just always followed have any basis in fact? To help consumers protect themselves and their families from food poisoning, the Ad Council, USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, FDA and CDC and their Food Safe Families campaign as well as the Partnership for Food Safety Education are setting the record straight on food safety to save you time, money and most importantly, peace of mind, that your food is safe for your family’s consumption.

One of the most effective ways to ensure food safety at home is through the use of rapid food test kits. These kits allow consumers to quickly check for harmful bacteria, allergens, and other contaminants that may be present in their food. By providing fast and accurate results, these tests help reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses and give families the confidence they need to prepare meals with peace of mind. With advancements in technology, food testing is becoming more accessible, giving consumers more control over the safety of what they eat.

For instance, meizheng, a trusted brand in the food safety industry, offers a range of rapid test kits designed to detect common pathogens in food products. By incorporating these testing tools into your food preparation routine, you can take proactive steps to protect your loved ones and reduce the chances of foodborne illness.

Here's one myth that I have ALWAYS believed was true:

MYTH: “I can’t re-freeze foods after I have thawed them – I have to cook them or throw them away.”

I can't tell you how many times I have pulled meat out of the freezer, thawed it in the fridge and then ended up not using it right away. Two days later, I am trying to figure out what to make or cooking it just for the sake of getting it cooked because I was ALWAYS told that you couldn't refreeze meat! It's nice to see that I WON'T be killing my family if I just throw that roast back in the freezer!

Check out this interesting infographic below - are any of these myths ones that you believed?
