With the weather getting nicer, the boys signed up for Little League, CCD and the kids just wanting to play outside until it is dark, there are quite a few times that it is just easier to pop a frozen pizza in the oven. So a few weeks ago. the people at Freschetta sent me a pizza kit that included coupons for free Freschetta FlatBread pizzas and wanted to get my opinion on them.
For me, it was easy to review the Frechetta line, as that is what we buy most often anyway. I know it sounds crazy, but most of the Freschetta pizzas that we have purchased don't have the herbs sprinkled on top of the cheese. My children are still at the age where they refuse to eat pizza with that "green stuff" on the cheese. However, we had yet to try the Freschetta FlatBread line!
The flavors that we really wanted to try were the Zesty Italian (pepperoni, sausage, pepper & onions) and the Roasted Garlic & Spinach (sort of a "white pizza" with spinach on top). The kids (and especially my husband...the meat lover) absolutely loved the Zesty Italian. I am the only one in the house who will eat spinach, so the testing of the Roasted Garlic & Spinach fell to me. I have to tell you - I was a little nervous at first, because I haven't had the best luck with frozen white pizzas (as a matter of fact - the last one I tried a few months ago made me physically ill). But I love white pizzas and am always on the search for a quicker/cheaper alternative than ordering from the pizza shop. The Roasted Garlic was delicious.
Even better, I had forgotten how much I like thin-crust pizzas, which is what the Freschetta FlatBread pizzas are.
Have you tried the Freschetta FlatBread pizzas yet? What you do you think?
