    Frugal Fat Fighters and Yoplait

    by Mindi Cherry

    FacebookPinEmail

Welcome to a new regular post I like to call "Frugal Fat Fighters".  Friday will kick off "Frugal Fat Fighter Friday" (obviously, I like alliteration).  Please feel free to join in and grab the buttons for your own site!

Why am I starting this?  Simply put, it's because I need to lose 20 pounds.  While 20 pounds may not seem like much to many of you, please keep in mind that I am only 5'3".  Twenty pounds on me is like 50 pounds on a non-Hobbit.

One of the first habits I need to get back to is eating more yogurt.  When I am being "good", yogurt is my lifeline.  It's what can keep me from eating an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's Americone Dream.  Some people are suckers for chocolate, some for chips.  Creamy foods are my biggest vice.

So I was thrilled when Yoplait offered to send me samples of their three newest flavors of their 100-calorie fat-free Yoplait Light!  The three flavors they sent were:  Strawberry Shortcake, Pineapple Upside-Down Cake and Raspberry Cheesecake (listed in order of my favorites).  Both the Strawberry Shortcake and Pineapple Upside-Down Cake had nice chunks of fruit in them.  The Raspberry Cheesecake was a smooth and creamy blend!

So how does this fit in with Frugal Fat Fighters?  Because Yoplait is always more than generous with the coupons!  There are always coupons in the monthly General Mills circulars that can be combined with sales at the store.  Don't have any coupons?  Click here to get one!

What are your favorite must-haves when you are on a diet?

(Please note:  this is not a sponsored post and I received no compensation other than 3 free yogurts!)

I've been on WW for the past few weeks with a goal of losing 10 pounds by Nov. 1 for a friend's wedding. I still have 2.5 lbs to go for the wedding goal, but also want to lose another 10 after that. I'm a fellow oompa loompa coming in at 5' 2" and I know 20 lbs is going to make a huge difference. I love yogurt, too, but I recently switched to Yoplait's Yo-Plus. The blackberry pomegranate is terrific. My other must haves are grape tomatoes and cucumbers for snacking and lowfat pumpkin muffins for that cake fix. I'm definitely a cake person. The easy muffins are 1 box spice cake mix, 1 can pumpkin, 1/2 cup water. Spray the muffin tin and bake at 350 for 16-18 minutes. Makes 12 muffins at 3 points each!

LOL, you have a lot of short readers! I am afraid I am shorter than you at 4ft 11 1/2 inches! I have 13 pds to go before I am at my happy weight. It is amazing how much better we short people look and feel with even a 5 pound drop in weight.I will be checking back for this series, thanks!
