Awesome timing. I just mixed my first batch of laundry soap and dish washer soap. FYI Octagon takes forever to grate compared to Fels. Octagon is much harder since it contains more Lye.

Fantastic! Not only is it great for being able to soften my clothes more cheeply, but since we're remodeling our home I'm hoping it works for taking down wall paper as well!

I just made my homemade detergent two days ago & learned about fauxi-clean yesterday... Perfect timing!

Is there a residual odor from the vinegar?

No odor from the vinegar. The clothes smell like the laundry detergent that I use, and I'm going to try homemade laundry detergent next. If you want a scent, I read in the recipe comments that you can add a few drops of essential oil to the entire mixture.

This fabric softener is great! I tried it yesterday on the kids' clothes and they were incredibly soft afterward. I even had a couple of their sweaters to wash, and I air dry them--soft, cozy sweaters after they were dry. Definitely give this a try!

Joni I sent you the recipe. Barb no I don't notice the smell. Essential oils will overpower the vinegar.
