Oh Feedburner - why do you taunt me so?

    by Mindi Cherry

    FacebookPinEmail

This post is more looking for advice from anyone who might have a self-hosted Wordpress (wordpress.org) blog....

What is up with Feedburner or what am I doing wrong?  My stats are ALL over the place.  One day it shows 82 subscribers, the next zero, the next 23 subscribers, then zero for 2 days and then 96 the following day, then back to zero.

Does anyone know if this is just a "feedburner glitch" or could it be something wrong with my coding?  The "Subscribe" button on my sidebar is just the HTML code provided by Feedburner inserted in to a Text Widget.

Not that it is THAT big a deal...more annoying than anything else...but help?

Feedburner is borked. It's been that way for a while. I'm about to throw it out - it's like the scale. Drives me crazy.

totally agree with darla....feedburner is wonderful for certain things, but very unreliable as far as stats go...

      love your blog! 🙂

I don't use Feedburner stats, but I do use Feedburner counter for the # of subscribers. My reader # varies anywhere from 20-70 people/day.

It it makes you nuts, just remove the visible counter. Even bloggers with a lot of numbers tend to watch and worry over a fluctuation of +/- 5. You always wonder whom you've irritated enough to unsubscribe!
