    Similac Powder Formula Recall!

    by Mindi Cherry

    FacebookPinEmail

I am always hesitant to post ANYTHING regarding formula-feeding, because inevitably, I get an email or comment with someone ranting about the evils of formula feeding and how can I promote formula and don't I know that formula makes the Baby Jesus cry?  If you are thinking about leaving one of those comments because of the info in this post, please just click the little red "x" in the upper-right-hand corner of your screen instead.  I really don't want to hear/read it.

    Hennyway.....

There is a voluntary recall on specific lot numbers of Similac Powder formulas. According to their website,  they are "recalling these products following an internal quality review, which detected the remote possibility of the presence of a small common beetle in the product produced in one production area in a single manufacturing facility."

The recall of these powder infant formulas includes:

    • Certain Similac powder product lines offered in plastic containers.
    • Certain Similac powder product lines offered in 8-ounce, 12.4-ounce and 12.9-ounce cans.

To immediately find out if the product in your possession is included in this recall, parents and caregivers should visit www.similac.com/recall/lookup, and type in their lot number to determine if their product is affected, or call (800) 986-8850.

    Thanks My Dallas Mommy!

I am sorry, this post made me laugh so hard! I get your frustrations about people leaving rude comments. Can't please everyone! I am sure those people that complain about formula fed babies take their kids to McDonalds every now and then! Imagine the beetle content in that food! haha Love your site!

        Thanks Chasidy!

There is one type of post that I can make that is guaranteed to incite hate mail...and that is formula-related posts.

Funny thing..I nursed all 3 of my children until they were 14 months old. But I have plenty of friends that started their children on formula in the hospital and I would never presume to judge them. It's just different choices!

Even though this post is about a very serious subject (the recall) I could not stop myself from laughing!

I had such a bad day today and who would have thought a post about a recall would make me laugh? 😛

I never did understand why people get so not nice when it comes to formula. I always thought women and mothers should stick together. Now if you are feeding your children nothing but candy ummm...yes, feel free to say nasty things. Otherwise we all need to help each other out and be nice to one another.

So you are saying that you would NOT support the steady diet of pork rinds and vodka that I gave my children? 😉
