I recently had an epiphany: when it comes to my face, I have no desire to be frugal.
I mentioned before that there are very few things to which I am brand-loyal. One of them was Purity by Philosophy. But in the back of my mind I was thinking "Min - sometimes you are just too rigid. Give another brand a try!"
And so I did. I recently ran out of Purity and grabbed another brand of cleanser from the shelves of Target. The result?
One honkin' big chin zit. The first pimple that I have had in 3 years (coincidentally, around the same time I started using Purity). The kind of pimple that my husband can't keep his eyes off of and actually had the nerve to touch while yelling "Beep Beep!" (lucky for him, our sofa is really comfy for sleeping!)
And so tomorrow, I will load my kids in the car and drive 20 minutes each way to the mall in my gas-guzzling mini-van (the heck with the environment...I have a pimple!) in order to storm in to Sephora and get me some more Purity by Philosophy. I might even buy a whole case of it, because I don't want to take a chance of EVER running out again! Look for me at the mall....I'll be the one with the Hello Kitty BandAid on her chin trying to look casual.
And if you ever hear me mention that I might give up my Bare Escentuals makeup? Just shoot me!
Of all the times I have tried to save money, I consider trying to give up Purity my biggest "frugal failure" (perhaps I am being overdramatic, but this is my face!).
What's your worst?

Shoes. I can't help but to spend $300-$500 on a pair of shoes. Good shoes make all the difference for my feet. I buy cheap shoes and I get big ole ugly things on my toes and they are not just ugly, they hurt like all get out.
So I will keep on buying my expensive shoes, no cheapies for me!

the philosophy line of face care is amazing. i even got my husband using Purity! I love their "Hope in a Bottle" lotion ($38 and I'm almost out! I need to start setting aside my survey money!) See...take a look in my medicine cabinet...it's full of Philosophy:
